Great Deli food.

You should first go with a good appetite. Second it's their great sandwiches, sound and potato pancakes is what will win you over. Everything is made fresh and that's part of making a great sandwich. Go and enjoy.

PSA: We have dined at Max’s Delicatessen & Restaurant at 191 Skokie Blvd in Highland Park, IL, countless times, but after our most recent visit I can positively say NEVER AGAIN! We’re not overly picky when we dine but in recent visits here we have experienced an obvious decline in our dining experience involving major issues with both food and... More

Wow. Well, I have to say first that we had been coming here and supporting a locally owned restaurant for a few years now. But never again and will now be warning everyone I know about it. Let me start by saying the food is good. Not amazing, but good! The wait staff is very prompt, professional, and kind. The... More

Close in name but not in portions or quality. A big place but doesn't live up to the namesake which has different ownership.

The lox platter and a bowl of their tomato/basil soup will warm anyone on a cold Chicago day. The friendly staff is an added treat.

A cornucopia of favorite Jewish foods and plenty of other seclular fare. Corned beef and chopped liver is my favorite with potato latkes on the side. Not a regular stopping place. But always a winner.

a popular place to meet for breakfast with many choices of breakfast food that is available all day. Also, a good place for lunch, with an overwhelming choice of what to order

If you like really good food, this is the place. I have had many sandwiches here and they are always good. Their corned beef and pastrami sandwiches are just great. Everything from the Rueben to the whitefish is very tasty. One can eat in their dinning room or pick up to go. One can also pick up some of their... More

My advice is go to Max and Benny's (Northbrook, IL) where you will get great service and delicious food. Max's Deli wait staff act like they are there to make money but not give you service. It seemed as if the server was doing us a favor to serve us. The food was marginal. All in all, don't bother!

Stopped by to either eat in if not crowded, or get something to go if crowded. The place was jammed. Asked one of the owners (was told he was one of the owners and his name was Joey) how long the wait was. He said there's no wait, but he didn't seat us and we waited a few minutes. We... More
