If you like really good food, this is the place. I have had many sandwiches here and they are always good. Their corned beef and pastrami sandwiches are just great. Everything from the Rueben to the whitefish is very tasty. One can eat in their dinning room or pick up to go. One can also pick up some of their... More

My advice is go to Max and Benny's (Northbrook, IL) where you will get great service and delicious food. Max's Deli wait staff act like they are there to make money but not give you service. It seemed as if the server was doing us a favor to serve us. The food was marginal. All in all, don't bother!

Stopped by to either eat in if not crowded, or get something to go if crowded. The place was jammed. Asked one of the owners (was told he was one of the owners and his name was Joey) how long the wait was. He said there's no wait, but he didn't seat us and we waited a few minutes. We... More

Stopped by this neighborhood deli/restaurant to pick up some pastrami & corned beef for dinner. Although there were a number of people in line, there was only one employee working behind the counter. OK, no big problem. Eventually, another employee appeared & the orders, large & small, were filled. OK, good. In this establishment, the counter-man gives you the receipt... More

There are many temptations in the deli/bakery at the front of the restaurant -- huge taffy apples (with or without nuts); rugalach; apple, cherry, and key lime pies; cheesecake; smiley face cookies; etc. But the best deal is that from 5:00 p.m. till closing (9:00 p. m. Friday and Saturday; 8:30 other nights) bagels are half price. And they are... More

Ahh, the pleasures of a great corned beef sandwich. Oh, the joy of the delicate solidity of a well-crafted matzoh ball. The only thing missing here is there is no surly staff - they're responsive, helpful and quick! Is this really one of the greatest meals I've ever had? Of course not. But it is great deli food - reliable... More

We have Saturday Brunch here almost every Saturday with my father. It is his favorite place. We usually order Nova plate with bagel and chive cream cheese, omelets, soup, and sandwiches. They also have a great take out deli counter.

We stopped by for a late dinner - literally 2 minutes before they were to close on a Friday night. They still allowed us to be seated. The service was a bit above average - everyone in our party really enjoyed their food. Upon leaving the manager gave each of our kids a free decorated cookie and thanked us personally... More

If you want great Jewish deli food, Max's is a stop for family, alone, or with friends. Their soups are delicious and their salads are huge. They have yummy omelets and all of the typical deli dishes like - blintzes, chopped liver, potato latkes and brisket. They also have a take out section with deli and bakery items. You can't... More

I met a friend here for lunch. We were seated immeditely. On our table was a bowl filled with sliced pickles, nice touch. We ordered our lunch. While eating our lunch the owner came over to our table and removed the bowl of pickles and replaced it with a small saucer with a few sliced pickles in it. When he... More
