They have raised prices and quality of food since opening. Sometimes side dishes are cold. And the main course meats are cold. Staff does not pay attention and are not listening to customers

"Rub" as it's called by locals is really good barbecue. It is tough to decide what to get because it's all good. Also, I always want to try all the sauces, but I usually go for the sweet. There are a lot of really good side dishes to choose from, again a tough decision. It's a little pricey so we... More

A return visit to this BBQ restaurant was one of my trip goals when visiting the Chicago area. Very casual place with indoor and limited outdoor seating. Order at counter and view the food being served. Very generous portions of meat for the sandwiches - the pulled pork is my favorite. Delicious BBQ sauce choices. Large variety of meats available... Real Urban BBQ hits the spot in HP. Nice selection of items, all very tasty. Very casual to eat in or quite easy to take out.

I try to come here whenever I'm in the area for work. It's actually not a bad place to grab a solo lunch. There seems to be a nice mix of people-- business people, parents with kids-- and the staff are always very nice. And the food.... LORD, THE FOOD. Delicious. I'm always that person trying every single BBQ sauce... More

I have to admit that my experiences here have been average the last few times. The burnt ends sandwich was $9 of fatty meat that I had to dispose of. The sides all needed salt and the service is a little on the dismissive side. The new computer service has an option to add a tip right as you check... More

Real Urban Barbecue is good. Not great; not terrible; not expense; not cheap. For a suburban quasi-fast food eatery, it's good. Better to eat in than carry-out as the food tends to get dried out if it sits around. Brisket (+burnt ends) pork ribs, chicken--the usual suspects; available in different sizes and incarnations depending on your desire and appetite. You... More

Can't wait to go back. Went to see the Moody Blues at Ravinia and stopped here for a quick bite. I had the pulled pork, wife had the sliced brisket. Best I've had in a long time. Many sides to choose from, and many types of sauces at the table so one can try different types. Also nice that there... More

From the brisket, chicken to all the side dishes, this place is outstanding. Juicy chicken, spicy hot links, yummy brisket.. everything we've had is outstanding. The guys who take care of you are always so nice.the sides are many, but we usually get mac & cheese , cole slaw and green beans. All great. They have some yummy looking desserts,... More

We ordered the Ribs and the pulled pork sandwiches. both were fantastic. We ate right there on their porch. Everyone enjoyed what they had.
