We were here for an early lunch, very friendly staff, good food. This is the second Pita Inn we visited in the Chicago area, the quality of the food is very consistent. The falafel is a must try, well then again, everything on the menu is a must try including the desserts.

I was running late for lunch and noticed Pita Inn had a full parking lot at 2pm. Must be good, I thought. It was excellent. The chicken was tender, the rice delicious and the sauces quite tasty. A very large plate of food at a very fair price. I will be back to try more from their menu!

This is the ultimate bang for the buck, for around $5, nowhere but, nowhere, are you going to find a lunch special like this place. You get a sampler plate that tastes great and will take care of even the big appetites. I must say I have only been here for lunch so I can't say about dinner, I know... More

I'm a chicken shawarma FREAK and this is one of the best I've ever had, and this includes visiting restaurants all over North America. What made it so good? That hot red sauce!! Just ladle over their white and red sauce and dive in--you'll be in HEAVEN. Only complaint? No seating. Order "dine in" and had to change it to... More

The dinner platters, especially the schwarma (called a Gyro in Greek), which comes with a salad, tahina, golden rice and pita bread is far more than an average person can eat at one sitting. The hommus is also among the very best.

It is always exciting to try different cultures and their foods. We did not know what to order so we asked the clerk and he recommended the "special plate". We ordered only one and was glad we did as it was a lot of food. You put the cut up meat, rice , lettuce into a pita and eat. We... More

We eat at Pita Inns frequently and find the food fresh, consistent and tasty. Chicken tenders and lamb kebabs are very good. Both the red spicy and white yogurt sauces are delicious. Prices are quite low and the atmosphere is what it is. Familys enjoying the food in groups together. Highly recommend.

For starters, there are locations in Wheeling, Illinois and the newest in Mundelein, Illinois, both Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. I have been going to Pita Inn since it opened in Skokie in the 1970s. Nothing has changed over the years and no matter the location (except the décor and atmosphere has gotten far better with each new opening). Simply the... More

Ordered from the Glenview restaurant for the first time for take outs (we always go to the Skokie location) on a Sunday evening...... A good barometer for how good places like Pita Inn and other Eastern/Middle Eastern places are is how many taxis are in the parking lot. I counted at least 2 in the almost full lot, which was... I frequent this place quite often and the food is good. The only reason I go here is because they serve Zabiha Halal food. Chicken, lamb is Zabiha Halal but the same cannot be confirmed for the beef items. Quite reasonably priced and the ambience is good. Lunch time cannot be at times challenging with the sitting as the place... More
