If you are in Glenview don't miss this place. They serve classic Chicago greek/american fast food and they've been rocking it since 1975. I've been eating here since 1980. Big bomber size Italian beef sammies, Italian bread pulled high with tender sliced beef, sweet or hot peppers and loads of au jus. The gyros, chicken on pita, and tuna of... More

I have always love this place since my first visit decades ago. On this visit though, I ordered my usual and there was not as much food for my gyro plate as in the past. That was the disappointing part. Overall taste still seems the same. Maybe when I go again it'll be different (hopeful thinking). I'll post again if... More

The works is great because it is an old fashioned Chicago-style place to get your hot dogs, Italian Beef, and Gyros. The staff there is extremely friendly and have the most amazing memory! Even if you are a party of six, the cook behind the counter can remember your complete order, even when you special order! I no longer live... More

The best Gyro's you'll ever have. As good or better than any Greek food in Greektown. Gyros are fresh and homemade, tzatziki sauce is the best ! No yogurt here. Sour cream and fresh herbs dominate with lemon juice and garlic....... Fantastic Now mind you, this place is not fancy, the Works is fast casual with excellent homemade food. Come... More

Friendly service, fast service, great food and cheap! How great is that? Their food is just as good as the good food you would get in the city in Greektown. I'm glad we don't have to go too far whenever we are craving some good gyros. I will definitely come back again!

Ordered two gyros plates with fries. It wasn't as good as places like Hubs or Goodi's The place is dark and pretty well worn. It wasn't awful, but I won't go out of my way to go back.

Thirty five years ago Andy Kollopoulos with his brothers opened The Works, the restaurant that serves hot dogs, burgers and GYROS plus other fast food items. By no means it was another "greasy spoon joint". No fancy dinning room, just tile floors, paneled walls, vinyl chairs, but don't let that fool you! It is a food that made this restaurant... More

I have been going to the works since I was a kid. Everyone who lives in and around the area knows that these are the best gyros - always have been.

Whenever we visit this area we make it a point to stop in at The Works for our Gyros fix. This is one of those places that you don't go for the fancy dining room, you go for the food...and the characters who cook it! The Works is located in a large strip mall and has an old school order... More

The service was fast. The food was great. The staff was super. I got the hot dog with everything on it, it was good but i recommend others get it without the cheese. The cheese made it too sloppy and it didn't really help the flavor. They use vienna beef hot dogs and the flavor was really good. The gyro... More
