Good eats, decent atmosphere

We were visiting family and they took us to this restaurant which we understood to be one of the top in the area. There was a waiting line but with a pretty simple menu, folks come and go fairly quickly. Three of our group had the hamburgers which I understand them to be known for and I had the... read more

This is the best place for burgers, ribs and appetizers The great food and service has not changed since my wife and I started eating here in 1990. The burgers are melt in your mouth good I really would like to know how they make the meat taste so good. One of my sons get's the ribs and the other... More

Been to this place about two dozen times when visiting relatives in Aurora. My son introduced me to it because he is absolutely nuts about their to-order burgers & fries. Had one the first time, he is right on. Had Ribs the second trip, with fries, wow, really great. I've had their chicken, their Reuben and their mushrooms, baked potatoes,... More

Vegetarians, stay away. This is the best place for burgers, ribs and beer. The decor has not changed since I was a kid and made my first visit 3 decades ago. Neither has the style of using baskets to serve food and having the best fries in the region. Get the cheeseburger with blue cheese and onions.

Big menu, plenty of choices. We got calamari and onion rings, then burgers with fries or baked potatoes. Piping hot and well prepared. Very good service. Reasonable prices.

I've been going to Alfie's since the late 60s. Always have ordered the same thing--the cheeseburger. It's amazing. Has been the same wonderful meal for over 40 years.

For years, when I was living in Wheaton and Glen Ellyn, I would drive past Alfie's Inn at 425 Roosevelt Road and marvel at how full the parking lot always was. Later, I realized that Alfie's had become a staple in an area that had undergone considerable highway and commercial and housing construction. A lot of businesses and restaurants had... More

All of the meals were good for meat and carbs, the food was good, but disappointed in the lack of vegetables on the menu. The closest you will get to a vegetable is coleslaw, pickles and celery on the side. Service was a little slow and the kids portions are huge. Kids menu and crayons for the kids while you... More

Alfie's has been a staple on Roosevelt Rd, it seems, forever, but there is a good reason why: The food is always fresh, good and consistent, as is the service. The menu is limited, but if you pass the place almost any day or evening, the parking lot is full. My favorite here is the Mediterranean chicken burger, or the... More

Met here with friends. They all had childhood memories that made the place better. It was good in an old fashion way, but I'd never drive out that far to eat again.
