My husband and I decided to check out the Coco Bean in Geneva for our daughter's 1st birthday cake. We stopped in and bought a few of their mini cakes (delicious) to help us decide. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and walked through their cakes with me. We decided on a small "smash cake" for our daughter (white/... More

I'm proud to say I was there when Cocoa Bean opened their doors, and I've walked into their shop MANY times since. This is my go-to place if I want to impress. I bring their mini cakes to parties, almond croissant to office for breakfast, cookies and French macaroons as hostess gifts and I always get the same reply...Where did you... More

Nowadays, it's not too hard to find French style baked goods such as croissants, pain au chocolat, macarons, fruit tarts and creme brulee here in the U.S. You can even find croissants in American grocery stores. But, in most cases, what's styled French pastries here are pale imitations of the real thing. Cocoa Bean is about the best place I've... More

Stopped in here for a lite breakfast and we were not disappointed. The pastry chef is a real artist and knows his or her craft well. Each piece in the pastry case was perfect in appearance. Tiny little Rembrants waiting to be enjoyed. Could not sample it all...but what we did was quite tasty.

My son is getting married but lives in Utah so is coming back to the chicago area for another reception. My husband and I are getting our cake from the Cocoa Bean because it comes with the package from Cantigny. We went for the tasting and OMG SOOOO GOOD! Honestly THE BEST wedding cake I have ever had, hands down.... More

This place makes stunning desserts - not your normal cookie-brownie fare like grandma makes. These are decadent and a work of art. Go here to buy a stunning array of goodies for your next women's tea. Coffee is good. They have a few tables for sitting and enjoying a cup of coffee and something to eat, but it is nothing... More

Cocoa Bean has extraordinary desserts and the BEST pastries you will find...anywhere! For 30 years I have travelled to Paris and always looked forward to the Pain Au Chocolat...but they are BETTER by far at Cocoa Bean. I was just in Paris 2 weeks ago...and I looked forward to Cocoa Bean's lighter, crisper croissants with better chocolate inside! The quality... More

It was so hard to choose among the beautiful pastries. I was craving chocolate and the chocolate croissant was sublime! While the majority of square feet is devoted to pastry-making -- clearly the business-end of the house -- the mocha didn't disappoint. The friendly staff -- including the cheerful chef that waved and said "thank you!" when I peeked into... More

This is a cute little place to get coffee and pastries. The coffee choices were excellent and they knew how to make cappachino and other difficult brews. My wife was able to get a gluten free pastry and she raved about it. I had a chocolate filled croissant that had just enough sweetness, but not too much. The atmosphere is... More

The mini quiche was scrumptious! We also shared a pistachio apricot pastry that was amazing. And then there were the mochas...you can't go wrong here!!
