We stopped here for a late lunch/early supper. I had steak frites, a delicious, perfectly cooked flat iron steak dressed with herb butter and accompanied what can only be described as a mountain of thinly sliced fries. My wife had split pea soup made with sausage rather than the usual ham. She loved it.

The salmon was delicious...moist and flavorful. We ordered frites as an appetizer and then my husband's steak came with a "mound" of them as well! Steak was so-so. A little overpriced for what you get. Need to ask for split check or server may not think to do that.

Very nice dining for German as well as French and other food! Try the schnitzel! The food and service was very good! Many beers to choose from!

What a surprise find in in this mid-western town. Without a doubt the best German food we have eaten in the US since we left Germany. This small restaurant serves both French and German food. I had the Swein Schnitzel, Red Cabbage, and Spaetzle. My spouse had the Beef Rouladen, Red Cabbage and Sauerkraut. Both meals were excellent/wunderbar. The wait... More

I have eaten at this restaurant several times inthe past and really enjoyed it. However, my experience last week was awful. Our table was not ready upon arrival, the server was awful, the food was mediocre at best and served at room temperature (as was the water, with no ice), and we spent most off the evening swatting away flies.... I really enjoyed the warm bacon dressing on my spinach salad. The crunchy bread complemented all meals. Two couples enjoyed 4 different entrees. The pork and veal schnitzels were ample servings as was the half chicken. This made for great leftovers. The sauerbraten was also good-sized. Sauerkraut, red cabbage, spaetzel and homemade frites were enjoyed by each of us. Wine... More

We had dinner here on a Sunday evening. The restaurant is small but cozy, decorated in a true bistro style. The wine was delicious, and the food was very fresh. I had a garden salad with the house vinaigrette for starters. Everything tasted as if it were right out of the garden, and the vinaigrette was light and delicious. We... More

Stopped in Galena on a driving trip. After walking through the town, we picked Fritz & Frites for lunch. It was the prettiest place to eat in town. Lovely setting, nice service. The menu is not huge, but good options. We ordered the chopped salad and the fig & goat cheese salad. Both were delicious. It was a little slow,... More
