Really Pretty Cool

It's an attractive restaurant, and the food was really pretty good. We had Irish nachos (fries, corned beef, Swiss, and thousand island on the side) and they were excellent. The stuffed chicken breast was also very good, as was the beer selection. Good service, and the music was just a singer with... read more

this was our third time coming to this Irish Pub. The food is very good, the service is great, and the atmosphere is like I would think an Irish Pub would be like. We stayed at the Irish Cottages a few years ago and loved it.

A restaurant with character. Very warm and inviting. Hostess and servers were very good and efficient. Very Irish flavor. A wide variety of drinks available. Many different beers for the beer lover with many craft beers. Good wine selection. Food was outstanding for pub food. Good selection of items to choose from. Sandwiches to steaks and everything in between. Good... More

Just an average pub. Nothing too special, but not bad either. If you are from out of town, you might want to try something a little more unique.

The pub was okay....lots of visuals and a cool theme. The drinks were WAY overpriced...10 bucks for a cheap glass of wine. I get that this is Galena, but that price is ridiculous. We had the cheese board which was good. I probably will not go back.

Again, our visit to Frank O'Dowd's Irish Pub was a grand experience. Above all, the service and friendliness of the staff was only matched in awesomeness by the quality of the food. The salmon and steak plate was full of flavor. The 1/2 # burgers on pretzel rolls are always a special treat. And the Shephards Pie makes me think... More

I had the corned beef on rye, which was excellent, My husband questioned if his sirloin really was 12 ounces, but the taste was good and he loved the mashed potatoes and pretzel roll. We would have loved seeing more of the Irish dancing - WOW - and enjoyed visiting with the dancers after the show.

I checked this Irish pub out online before my mini getaway to Galena. So, when I arrived here, I wasn't surprised by it but THRILLED at the beauty of it in person. Felt like I was in an authentic Irish pub. The dark wood work, the wall hanging and especially the view from the window seat, all felt like I... More
