Fantastic food & service

We had a wonderful dinner at Perry St Brasserie! The veal & mushroom soup was light but flavorful. Even though it is not a place you would expect to see children, the staff were super sweet and accommodating of our two-year old. She had the hummus & pita. We have to echo the other accolades for this great restaurant. While a little noisy at first, it quickly became a fun, lively atmosphere with people lingering because you didn't want the meal to end. The chef, we learned, is very fussy and rejects anything that is not perfect. Hence, no asparagus that evening. The baked oysters were light but... More

What a fine dining experience! The atmosphere is charming and the wait staff attentive. The best part is the unbelievably DELICIOUS food! Everything was original, fresh and cooked to perfection! You will not find a better meal anywhere!

Our third night in Galena, and by far the best restaurant. The food and service was amazing! Everything is made on premises. We've dined all over the world, and this little gem has become one our favorites.

My wife and I had our 5th wedding anniversary dinner here last Friday. This is a wonderful little restaurant. The décor is somewhat dark, keeping with the stonework nature of the building itself. They have several copies of medieval brasses hanging on the wall. For me, this made the windows so much more inviting to look out of, onto the... More

Very creative menu, mainly due to assorted side dishes and seasonings for the main courses. I had a steak, which frankly was over-herbed and over-seasoned with salt. But after I scraped off what I could of the seasonings, I did finish the whole thing! it was a very good meal. I recommend telling the waitstaff to have the chef go... More

Chef Steve has been seasoned on the world stage and now practices his art in Galena, Illinois. This small restaurant has a level of service and culinary accomplishment unexpected for a small city and is all surprises, for the good! The veal broth soup I had was unique and very flavorful; similarly, the long-standing evening special, with lobster, scallops and... More

The food is outstanding, one of the top 3 steaks I have experienced while traveling, both domestically and abroad. The dining area is quaint without feeling small or crowded and is perfect for a nice romantic dinner or small celebratory meal with an intimate group of friends.

This place is somewhat hidden from the mainstream, overlooked by many tourists to the city. That is the biggest mistake each visitor could make, as no trip to Galena would be complete without visiting Perry Street. The chef offers classic French cooking with some of his own twists. The restaurant is best described as cozy, in a good way. The... More
