We visited Galena over the weekend, and Benjamin's has a sign in the window that it is going out of business. Looking inside the large picture windows, their inventory is set up around the bar as if it's for sale. It's too bad!! It was a cornerstone business in Galena!

Whenever we are in Galena, this is where we have lunch. Great sandwiches, especially the grilled ham and cheese. Good burgers too!

We had visitors from England in October and took them up along the Mississippi thru Dubuque to see the museum there and then over to Galena where we strolled the streets and the shops and had a marvelous lunch at Benjamins. Any time we go to Galena, we always make it a point to stop there for lunch or just... More

Stopped in with the girls for a drink and lunch. The service was friendly and recommended drinks and food. I thought $9 was a little high for a cosmo, but it was good. Lunch was a burger and fries cooked just the way I like them.

I want to start by saying our waitress was EXCELLENT and ATTENTIVE and the food was surprisingly good. But the older woman behind the bar which seemed to be the hostess as well did nothing but bark comments to us all evening. "Grab a booth!" "High chair is behind you!" "Let me see your ID's!" "You must have a long... More

After the Halloween parade we were happy to find a place open serving food. It was very cold inside, the music was blaring, but when the food got there it was good. Waitress was friendly. I don't want to judge them too harshly because it was so insanely busy that night. I would try them again on a warmer night!

We were in on a Sunday afternoon and sat at the bar for drinks. The bartender was an older gent, maybe an owner, and he was just the right mix of attentive, but not in our conversation. He offered to take a picture of us since it seemed like we were out on a special day. They had a good... More

Food was just okay, not hot and just barely warm. Good wait staff. Have eaten here on several occasions but food has never been this quality.

Unpersonable waitress, however amazing food and drinks! Fish bowl sized Bloody Marys. Great fries, burgers and Reubens were the best we have ever had!

My husband and I stopped here for dinner. He ordered a burger and I ordered the Reuben. Both we pretty good and we enjoyed the fries. A group for the Ghostly Pub Crawl arrived and as a result we pretty much become non-existent. It then took over 20 minutes just to get our check and we weren't willing to stay... More
