Quaint

Cute little restaurant in an old, small, quaint river town. The restaurant matches the town perfectly. They close at 3:00 pm. They specialize in breakfast and offer fresh squeezed orange juice. I must say our lunches were just average, not terrible just not great.

looks like a good place for breakfast. Ordered lunch & they served a chicken salad sandwich on a HARD biscuit!!!!! They titled the sandwich chicken salad on Panini. Don't think they know what Panini bread is or how to make it.

February in Galena, Illinois on a weekday is not exactly paradise on earth, but shops are still open, and services especially warm, arriving town a couple of days before Valentine's to enjoy a peaceful stroll down Main Street. We've been here before during summertime, and Main Street was busy and parking difficult. Finding a place to sit down for food... More

Only open for breakfast and lunch, this little place is a hidden gem. Great food from a displaced Chicago restauranteur, the fresh orange juice is squeezed before your eyes. Lunch fare is very good - simple, but fresh and tasty sandwiches and homemade soups. If you don't care about bells and whistles, just good food, this is your place!

Food was filing, but bland. Service was decent. Menu was a bit overwhelming. Biscuits and gravy were so-so, again, filling, but bland. Swedish pancakes/crepes were a tad undercooked and the lingonberries could have been scaled back a bit. I love them, but they overpowered the crepes. Had hoped for a bit more out of this place, but left feeling a... More

We actually went into another restaurant before coming here for lunch. But after sitting at the other place (Benjamin's) without so much as an acknowledgement much less a drink order within 10 minutes we left. I am glad it turned out the way it did. We sat at the counter and they were busy but the waitress acknowledged us right... More

We were planning on going to Victory Cafe from breakfast but walked passed this place first and liked what we saw through the window. Great service and great food of giant portions. I got the omelet and wife got French Toast. Menu items are all about same price (7.50/9.50) and worth it!!

We found this restaurant while looking for a place for breakfast. They have a very large selection to pick from. The food was very good. The waitress was slow at bringing the check when we were done. I would suggest not sitting near the door on cold days. The draft from people coming and going was very annoying. I was... More

Huge omelets, great coffee. Don't let them seat you near the door in colder weather - the draft is uncomfortable.
