Food was filing, but bland. Service was decent. Menu was a bit overwhelming. Biscuits and gravy were so-so, again, filling, but bland. Swedish pancakes/crepes were a tad undercooked and the lingonberries could have been scaled back a bit. I love them, but they overpowered the crepes. Had hoped for a bit more out of this place, but left feeling a... More

We actually went into another restaurant before coming here for lunch. But after sitting at the other place (Benjamin's) without so much as an acknowledgement much less a drink order within 10 minutes we left. I am glad it turned out the way it did. We sat at the counter and they were busy but the waitress acknowledged us right... More

We were planning on going to Victory Cafe from breakfast but walked passed this place first and liked what we saw through the window. Great service and great food of giant portions. I got the omelet and wife got French Toast. Menu items are all about same price (7.50/9.50) and worth it!!

We found this restaurant while looking for a place for breakfast. They have a very large selection to pick from. The food was very good. The waitress was slow at bringing the check when we were done. I would suggest not sitting near the door on cold days. The draft from people coming and going was very annoying. I was... More

Huge omelets, great coffee. Don't let them seat you near the door in colder weather - the draft is uncomfortable.

The Golden Hen is a nice local cafe. Tasty food in large portions, along with smiling service, in a good decor for a small town cafe. They made us happy.

We stopped in the café, late in the afternoon, to have lunch with friends. Two of us had the grilled ham and cheese and two of us had grilled cheese sandwiches. We also had cups of soup and coleslaw. Good lunch and good service. On our way out they offered us samples of homemade pumpkin desserts.

I had a chicken salad sandwich and fries. Pretty good all in all but I wasn't feeling well. I wish the chicken salad would have had a little more flavor- but it had some cranberry stuff in it which was good. My mom and grandma got breakfast items and they really enjoyed their omlettes. Coffee was good. Server was very... More

We went to the Golden Hen today as it was the first breakfast place we saw on Main Street. Bad on us...a walk a block or two further up and the experience might have been totally different. I ordered the potato benedict, described as poached eggs with ham on potato pancakes with hollandaise sauce. The eggs were fine...once I found... More
