My husband and I enjoyed two sandwiches, blue cheese soup, and bread pudding. Great wine & beer selection. Extremely friendly staff. It was extremely reasonable and tasty!

I had lunch here over Christmas with several women family members after a morning of shopping downtown Galena, after the sign board tempted us with their cream of mushroom, artichoke and sun dried tomato soup (delicious). I returned simply for a bowl of soup several months later. Most recently, a friend and I met at Embee's for lunch. My friend... More

Lucky me! I was there on Sweet Tooth Wednesday, so my delicious salad was followed by their signature bread pudding. As a woman dining alone, I am sometimes treated like a freak, but not at Embe. They made me feel welcome and at home.

My husband and I and two other couples stayed in Galena for two nights. We visited Embe several times while we were in town. What a great bar. Charlie and Mary were awesome. They make you feel like old friends. I would highly recommend Embe for a great atmosphere and awesome service.

We too were lured by a sign in the window. I love blue cheese, and had to try the cream of blue cheese soup with carrots and kale. It was excellent. Also had a pulled pork sandwich with slaw that was very good, my wife had the summer salad that was so beautiful she had to take a picture of... More

Was lured in by the sign board in front of the restaurant & the waiter who was putting the sign up. Ordered a roast beef & turkey sandwich with chips. It was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The roast beef was very flavorful & the chips were the best! My husband got the Blue cheese soup... More

6 of us were walking in Galena trying to decide where to eat lunch. A kind lady overheard us and pointed out this restaurant across the street and recommended it. We took her advice and we weren't disappointed. Most of us ordered a sandwich. They were served with delicious chips for a side. I ordered a sandwich referred to as... More

We were lured inside for lunch by a sign on the window mentioning bread pudding with rum sauce. Our waiter was very good: friendly and upbeat. The food was delicious and filling, and I'm still daydreaming about the bread pudding. The interior is interesting with cool artwork. I bet the bar area is a lot of fun at night.

After coming to Galena and exclusively dining at Embe many times to eat lunch and savor their delicious Hot Bread Pudding for dessert, I had great service with the woman waiter (perhaps owner?), but during this ONE VISIT, she left the store for an hour or two, the waiter with the cool bald hair-do became so nervous and jumpy (although...
