I was at the Embe Restaurant with friends on avery busy Galena week-end. The food and drinks was excellent as was the service. The waiter made you feel as if you were there for a party. He joked and made you feel very welcome. The soup was excellent as were our salads and sandwiches. My friends shared the bread pudding... More

I had a delicious meal at Embe. The food is homemade, with about 17 deli style sandwiches and an assortment of fresh salads. The mushroom soup is a speciality of the house as is the bread pudding, which is made daily. I love bread pudding and this is one of the best I've ever had. I ordered the spinach salad... More

In Galena for a mid-week getaway for our 15th wedding anniverary. We went antiqueing and wine tasting and wanted to go somewhere nice for lunch on our special day. This place was recommended. It's small and hip and a nice vibe. They advertised really cool martinis (though we didn't have any.) A local artist displayed his paintings of old rock... More

If you are staying in Galena and you happen to go downtown Galena, this restaurant should be the one you go to. Not sure if they have more selection for dinner, but we went there for lunch. Homemade mushroom soup is amazing. Best mushroom soup i have ever had. They also have homemade bread pudding. I hear its good but... More

We had a wonderful lunch here. The homemade mushroom, artichoke soup was full of flavor, the sandwiches are gourmet and the bread pudding is comfort food at its best. Everything is made from scratch ~ even the salad dressings. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. We're looking forward to returning and trying new things.

Food was excellent. The beer choices were "endless."-- a huge selection. The owner and his mom (the chef) here excellent hosts. They stay open late--after most places are already closed. Stop in and have a meal, snack, sandwich, or dessert. Home made mushroom soup is to die for.

We arrived in town late on a Friday night to find most restaurants closed. Upon the advice of a local, we walked over to Embe (as we were staying at the DeSoto). The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed. The menu consists of sandwiches and soups. I had a chicken sandwhich and my husband had a hamburger. Both were delicious.

This is a fine little cafe with nice artwork and very good food. We wanted a light lunch and shared a ham and cheese sandwich with bowls of their great mushroom soup. Nice experience

We ate lunch at Embe, having researched the menu prior to visiting, we were interested in the homemade, natural menu. I am also a sucker for all types of Bread Pudding... Embe did not disappoint... it was amazing. The sandwiches were very delicious and each had a unique twist. From the rest of the patrons it seemed as thought the... More

My wife and I stopped for a light lunch on a fall Saturday afternoon. I had the special chicken Chile, which was good. My wife was interested in sharing the blue corn chips with queso, but Embe had run out by 12:30 that afternoon. Boo! We shared the onion kettle chips with blue cheese dip instead. Just ok. We were...
