We went here for breakfast on the recommendation of the bartender at Frank O'Dowds and boy were we not disappointed! We had the quiche and country benedict and they were both delicious! Atmosphere and service were just great as well!

Appetizers were top notch but main course was just ok. Menu is limited but we knew this going in. Had the cioppino w/c was actually tasty but I've had better. Hubby had pasta w/c he barely ate.icebox cake, not sure all the hype on this, thought it was just ok.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write your review. We are glad you enjoyed your appetizers. We serve dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. Each weekend our Chefs prepare 4 to 5 entrees so our dinner menu is fresh, unique and different every weekend. The weekend we had the Seafood Stew, we did not feature a pasta... More

This place is picturesque and quaint, like most of Galena. It is located across the Galena River from the main business district. The building was built pre-1900 by a man named Otto, who planned to open an eating establishment. Unfortunately, he passed away without realizing his dream. The present owners have restored the building and have located a bar on... More

What's not to love? Great atmosphere - Check! Friendly service - Check! Creative menu with locally sourced meats - Check! My husband had standard fare but I got lucky and had the pigs in a blanket, which was a whole wheat pancake with full slices of bacon cooked right into the pancake (brilliant). Add 2 eggs on top and that... More

Driving from Chicago to Saint Paul, we stopped for "brunch" in Galena. We made our way to tour Grants house but it was closed. Continued along the street to find ourselves at the old train depot which is now the tourist information stop in Galena. The person in the depot recommended Otto's and when we saw it was just across... More

The first stop after the road trip to Galena starts out with breakfast at Otto's Place. The food is fresh, flavorful and different with "just right" portions. Our last two trips have also included dinner. Absolutely wonderful! The limited dinner menu is a new and wonderful experience. I loved the attention to service. Samples of wine and other spirits were... More

My husband and I were at Otto's on March 22 for dinner. We called on our way to Galena to make reservations. They open for dinner at 4:30 and we planned for that time, early I know, but we figured how much shopping did we expect to do? We were greeted by Bobbie and escorted to our table upstairs where... Otto's Place is slightly hidden in the Galena town of Illinois. My wife and kids frequent it when we are in the town area. It sits just on the other side of the river by the old train station down the street from General/President Grants home. It is quaint with 2 floors and a history with it. (You have to... More

Otto's is a bright, very charming space located slightly off the beaten path in Galena. We were seated right away and ordered breakfast. It was very good and the service was friendly and top-notch. The ambience was definitely five-star, and our food was very good and made from high-quality ingredients.
