At The Market House Restaurant we focus on the dinner table with homemade food like mom and grandma use to make. We are Family Run by three sisters and a brother and enjoy helping others to share in their good times. We hope you enjoy our quaint and friendly atmosphere and that your experience is one you'll never forget.

Fun evening

The evening as a whole was much better than the individual parts. The decor is nothing special, nor was the service. My steak was very nice, but my wife felt her meal was mediocre. Having said, we had a wonderful time and have very fond memories of the evening.

So glad a shop owner down the street recommended this place to us. It is on a second story of a building built in 1836. It has such delicious food. It is small and cozy. They do have a back room that is built right into the rock. Now that is neat. Of course, this whole town of Galena is... More

My wife and I left the kids home on a Friday night and went to the Market House for dinner. It was my first visit. The dining area is small with only 12 tables, but the place is extremely clean and well appointed. The menu features are huge and varied selection and the prices are very good. From sandwiches and... The menu looked awesome and the service was amazing, however we were pretty dissapointed with the food. It wasn't anything spectacular. I had gluten free mac and cheese and my husband had a burger. It was ok, but nothing to write home about.

We were recommended to this restaurant by Andy owner of The View Motel since we needed to have gluten free options for our anniversary dinner. The owner Laura personally greeted us and offered their rock garden room which offered an intimate setting. She took the time to explain all their glutten free items on the menu. Peggy, our waitress was... More

Happen to come across this place while in Galena. This was a smaller, but cozy place to eat. We went on a Friday night and had the all you can eat fish and chicken. The food was really good. Had a good selection of other items and sides as well. Everything is freshly cooked on sight. The service was great.... More

My husband and I wanted a light lunch at a reasonable price. The Market House provided a wonderful lunch in a really nice atmosphere. I had the crab salad on a croissant with a bowl of chicken dumpling soup. It was delicious. My husband had tuna salad, French fries and bread pudding for desert. He loved his lunch also. The... This is a very cute and cozy restaurant. The menu was awesome with a good selection. I am gluten free and was very happy they had a ton of options. The food was overall very good but the service was very slow. I would definitely go back because everyone was so nice there and food was good.

Three Sisters & Little Brother have run this establishment for 25 years +/-.... Everything is freshly cooked on site & excellent. Casual, Friendly & check out the garden room. Food allergies? No prob, Chef Terry works around them! Definitely worth a walk up the stairs!!!!

During a previous visit some time back, my wife and I bother ate here (all you can eat fish and baked chicken) and the food and the visit were exceptional. That said, we recently returned with some friends, we recommended eating here based on our last experience. The waitress not only recommended their special, a pot pie with a pastry... More
