Large room, and seemed family friendly. But the menu is incredibly limited (and all over the map in a disjointed way). Our waitress was new, and apparently hadn't sampled anything so she was no help in picking beers or food. I like what they are trying to do (be a local Goose Island), but they have missed the mark. The beer far outshines the food. After more than a year in business it is time to rework the menu. The tapas items are expensive and a little odd for Galena. Think about what people really want to eat with a great beer. More

The staff and the Galena Brewing Company are beyond awesome. Everyone from Greg, Hayli, Dawn, Megan, Ashlee, Noah...are top notch. And the beer is incredible, especially their Uly’s Dark Oatmeal Stout. Beer flights are offered for those that have a hard time ordering! They have a good variety of food including several tapas dishes. But, the real treat is the... More

I was looking forward to trying some new beers and eating a hamburger. Thus, when I discovered they had only tapas and some baked sandwiches, I was ready to move on. But the beer menu restrained me and I am glad it did. The scotch ale was on of the best I have encountered. I also tried a small taster... More

We are not crazy about Tapas eating so that was a bit of a bummer. They need a good 1/2 pound burger. That would go well with the beer. The handcrafted beer was excellent. The brewmaster does a great job and he will answer any of your questions. More

Friends and I stopped in for a few drinks. Been to alot of microbreweries and this one would rank about average. Tried a sampler and the amber was definitely the best by far. Had the sweet potato fries with a burger that was average at best. Service was friendly but not overally attentive, especially considering they weren't that busy... worth... More

Let's start with the ale. It's very very good. I especially recommend the oatmeal stout. It's full flavored and malty, with a hint of chocolate and a nice hoppy finish. In a world full of stout, this stuff stands out. Make sure to take some home with you. If the beer is wonderful, the food is pretty average fare for... More

Good lunch menu selection to accompany the variety of brews, including a couple of seasonal choices. More

Had a few of there custom beers, really nice. I especially enjoyed the large area to eat when sitting at a table. I really hate it when you have to eat next to someone and you can hear them breathing, let alone chopping with their mouth open. yuck. More

Catherine, thank you soooo much for your review. We really appreciate your feedback and we are thrilled that you have enjoyed our carefully crafted beers and food. It is very gratifying to know that local people (and visitors too) are having a good time at the Galena brewery. This is what we are here for. More

I live in Galena, so I get to come to the brewery pretty regularly. One of the things I have come to enjoy is their seasonal selections. My personal favorite is when the Brew Dude pushes the stout through a bunch of coffee. Limited supply, but someone will always email me to tell me when they have it, so I... More
