The food was okay, though not nearly as good as I expected. The service left something to be desired and at times, the operation seemed to be disorganized. I would have some trouble recommending this place to others.

We enjoyed the menu variety and different sauces available. Our food was delicious (burgers, brisquette, and shrimp), the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was comfortable.

It was our first time there, and we had a group of 9 to celebrate my parent's anniversary. It was fun to sample all of the different sauces on the homemade chips. The fried pickles and sweet potato bites were excellent, and everyone loved their entrees. We had shrimp burritos, bison burgers, brisquette, pulled pork, cod, and hamburger. The service... More

In a world rife with chain eateries, it's nice to patronize a locally-owned restaurant. You really pull for them to succeed. Sadly, Smokey Barque is missing on so many cylinders I don't think they'll be able finish the race. I'm further saddened to see many others have had similarly disappointing visits lately here. Our party of five arrived at a... More

I've been here several times and really want to like it but the food is just average, but the service is awesome and friendly, to bad the food can't be as good as the service.

Went for dinner last minute. While downtown Frankfort was busy, this place was not. Service was slow, but friendly. Food was not good and over priced. Brisket was bland, even their BBQ sauce didn't help. Pulled pork was OK. Do have to say the hot link was tasty. The hush puppies were awful (burnt). I don't recommend it.

We have frequented this casual, neighborhood restaurant many times, all during the week and always in the bar area. Loved it at the beginning.....good BBQ, tasty quesadillas, good craft beer selection, very reasonable. Unfortunately, as of late the food and service have slipped to the point we probably will think twice about going again. Such a shame, this place had... More

My wife and I always enjoy eating at Smokey Barque. Their four Barbque sauces are excellent. Their shredded pork, turkey and beef are fantastic no matter which of the four sauces you use. For a real treat try their baked beans.

It's average. It's worth a night out during the week but you won't be blown away by the food or drinks. There is a sense of overall disorganization the moment you walk in and unfortunately doesn't get better throughout the course of the meal. They do have a great outdoor seating area but this restaurant should be so much better.
