Excellent, continental Italian food. Great selection! The Halibut special of the night was absolutely delicious. The waiter was very helpful with out selections. He discussed each item we inquired about. On a Tuesday night the restaurant was almost full by 6. Make a reservation at this popular place.

Visited Campagnola for the second time on a rainy Friday on short notice. Very warm welcome at the door. Enjoyed halibut special and my wife loved the tagliatelli. All steamy hot, fresh and delicious. The fish had a really nice buerre blanc sauce and the tagliatelli was mushroomy and flavorful. Short but perfectly adequate wine list. The menu is short... More

Start with glass of prosecco...then pasta bolognese....radicchio salad......end with featured gelato. Continually wash down with Chianti. Staff was great. Walk 10 miles to burn a few calories. Small, a little loud but worth the noise. Would go again for sure

This restaurant has consistently good food. I recently had their Lemon Chicken dinner and it is one of the best meals I have ever had. My husband loves any of the pastas he has had over the years. One warning, is that service can be very slow. Last time it was slow enough that we got up and went looking... More

Appetizers and dinner were excellent but I was advised not to order one of the desserts but another instead and so I did. The dessert that was suggested was extremely disappointing and was ridiculously small to boot. I said exactly what I thought of this dessert after my one bite to both the head waiter and the owner. Neither apologized... More

Popped into Campagnola for an early dinner last Saturday night with friends before a concert. Being greeted at the door by the owner is a plus. Great bottle of wine, appetizer and salads came quickly. Service slowed down considerably after that, but with good reason. The restaurant totally filled by 6:15 on a Saturday eve. We ate delicious trout, a... More

Campagnola is one of the reasons why Evanston is the dining capital of the North Shore. Every bite is an adventure unto itself. Because it is expensive (worth every penny, but one still must have the pennies), I only eat there once or twice a year, and there is always something different to try as well as a favorite from... I've lived in Evanston for many years and had been to Campagnola about 10 years ago and thought it was ok but nothing special. A friend suggested it and I thought I'd see if it had changed. I felt the same way this time, a somewhat limited menu, and I would be hard pressed to call this an Italian restaurant.... More

Steve Schwartz, with Wayne as his #2, run a really good eating establishment with an Italian flair. Walking in the front door, you're always warmly greeted and well taken care of by either Steve or Wayne. I've been going here now for over fifteen years and I've never, ever had a bad meal. In fact, I can (and do) say... More

We were just at Campagnola. Very good. We were a group that did not all arrive on time. They were very gracious and let us sit at our table. The staff were very welcoming. The menu was fine: something for everyone. We thought the wine list was well thought-out. In particular, the Chianti we had was very good. The food... More
