My husband took me here to celebrate my birthday. We had reservations for a Friday night but luckily it wasn't terribly crowded. The selection of wines and menu items was great. Very nice ambience and great service. I would definitely recommend this anyone visiting the area.

Our third time split with great food news and horrendously bad service news. It;s a shame when Michael found us seats on a Friday nite without prior reservations and Seth waited our table. What courtesy, professionalism and care for the customer. We selected, received our flights of wine, ordered from the hard what to pick menu. Then began the wait... More

I celebrated a milestone birthday here last weekend and everything was PERFECT. Our server, Audra, enjoyed the merriment of the moment and helped us take photos - food was delicious, wine list creative and everyone had a wonderful time. Can't thank you enough.

Last evening I took friends and a cousin from Amsterdam for dinner. The service was impeccable, the menu was a study in innovative pairings. I found a buttery lettuce salad with touches of olive, toasted pecans and cheese, a perfect beginning. Others agreed. Then I had a delicious and generous appetizer, again, a tongue pleasing combination of flavors. Others at... More

This was one of the best and creative meals I've had in long time. Starting with the "foie gras" BLT and ending with a desert grilled cheese -- the meal would rival anything that we'd get back home in the NYC region. Aside from the wonderful wines and wine flights, they had an wide variety of liquors and I had... More

We shared a meal with our son and his wife, sampling a little of everything. The appetizers were excellent with the Foie Gras BLT's being the favorite. Entrees included salmon, hangar steak, pork chop, and tuna - all were wonderful. They have a great wine selection and a wine flight sampler of 3 half glasses for various wine categories. Service... Perhaps I'm a bit jet lagged but I couldn't remember the name of this restaurant when I eventually got home from my trip to Chicago. We went for a family gathering and generally enjoyed ourselves, but.. For a start, I always worry when the dishes sound too complex on the menu as was the case here. Complexity and more ingredients... More

We had heard of The Stained Glass for a while but hadn't had occasion to try it until last evening. It was really good. My husband said it was worth the trip just for the desserts, but I would say the same for the appetizers. We shared the escargots, the crab cake (my personal favorite) and the deviled eggs. We... We dined here for a special evening and absolutely loved it. We've been to many of the nicer restaurants in Evanston and on the North Shore, but this one is one that we seem to always overlook (perhaps because it's so close), but we will not be overlooking it anymore! Great food, attentive service, lovely ambiance.
