We were greated by Barb, the hostess, who has been there for many years- her bright smile and instant greeting always makes you feel welcome! It had been several years since I'd been to this Evanston institution, (unfortunately we now live 2200 miles away), but we made a point to go there on our trip back to Evanston. (It's that... More

Great food at low prices with extremely friendly service. Pizza, salads, eggplant parmesan etc all good.

Dave's Italian Kitchen is a lively and relatively inexpensive stop for family and friends. And service is very good and friendly. Our friends had chicken dishes, which they enjoyed, and we had pasta standbys - my wife, pasta with clam sauce, and me a whole wheat pasta with a tomato sauce. We started out with a large and shared gorgonzola... More

After many years of being away from the Chicago area, I was visiting, so decided to try the 'new' Dave's. I had only been to the earlier location, which I dearly loved. I was happy to see the scallops with lemon and zucchini on the menu - my favorite dish at Dave's. While my meal was good, it just did... More

25 min to take our order, 25 min for the food to arrive. Then hardly any flavor. I think they keep a giant pot of generic bland vegetables and a giant pot of marinade sauce etc and all the flavors are pretty neutral so they can mix them together to create various "dishes". Really a let down. Lots of people... More

I've been coming to Dave's since about 1983... I'm pretty sure one of my friends is responsible for them leaving a pitcher of water at every table. I was more impressed with the generous portions of lowest-common-denominator Italian food when I was in high school and college. The food (and Dave and some of the servers) is the same, but... More

Hi, my name is Teddy. I am 8 yrs old. Dave's is awesome. The meatballs are superb. The pizza is ok. The mousse is the best desert.

2nd worst meatball sub of my life. Basically it is two 4" diameter meatballs on some bread. Due to the size of the meatballs: -difficult to eat, and I'm an adult male with a pretty good biting capacity -sauce doesn't permeate so it's pretty bland -meatball centers stay scalding hot for 20 minutes Otherwise this place seemed okay.

I've been coming here for over 20 years (gulp!). I love how they have made the not so new current place have the same vibe as the original building. I have never had a bad meal here. My favorite is the spaghetti carbonara which is not super authentic, but super good. Love the fresh bread and italian salad with house... More

Our family ordered a large salad (Italian I think) to share and two pizzas also to share in order to accommodate everyone's tastes. The salad was more than enough for the four of use. The pizza was incredible, very flavorful and plentiful. Certainly would go back whenever we're in town again.
