Lovely restaurant and bar in the heart of downtown Evanston flanked by many other good restaurant choices. Tapas Barcelona draws a mixed crowd of locals and college students to drink sangria and enjoy delightful tapas. Portions are fairly priced and enough to share. We love the goat cheese/tomato melty tapas as well as the salmon. Meat options and seafood abound!

We have been here many times and always have a good experience. The food is very tasty and the wait staff attentive. It is nice in the warmer weather to be able to enjoy your meal on the outside patio.

I loved the garlic octopus and the household wine. This is a nice option in Evanston for an informal breakfast/dinner

I always enjoy eating at Tapas Barcelona. The service is good, the food is tasty, and the wine's fine. Make sure to order the bacon wrapped dates, but skip most desserts (except the bananas in caramel).

Never fails to delight. We always try to order new things each time, but keep coming back to old favorites. Favorites include mussels, Dali pizza, beef tenderloin, flan. The decor is warm and edgy at the same time. Service is always great.

Looking for a place for a "catch up" dinner with a friend. Interesting menu, excellent preparation, attentive service, good wine list, nice decor. It got more busy as the night went on but never so loud we couldn't talk. Several dishes were truly wonderful: bacon wrapped dates, scallops, beef skewers. The waiter was helpful and friendly without going overboard.

They do some pretty darn lovely tapas in this joint! Got seated right away (inside) on a Friday at 9 pm, though I think there was a wait for inside. It was sooooo cold in there! But we managed to shiver through it. The bacon-wrapped dates, a tapas restaurant staple, were freaking amazeballs. I've had these at several establishments, but... More

First, we show up and water cups are face down on table. So where we drink from has been resting on "clean table"? Disgusting. Food: the Mexican short-ribs were horrible. they were sliced 1/4 inch thin and were like beef jerky--disgusting. The "rib-eye" was also very thin and over cooked even though I said medium. Horrible. The calamari was chewy.... More

This place is definitely one of the best restaurants in Evanston- and that's saying a lot because there are many restaurants here for a town of this size, and most of them are pretty good. Definitely come here in a group so you can try as many dishes as possible! Everything is delicious. Have a sangria to go with whatever... More

This restaurant never fails to deliver the freshest of food with an authentic taste of Spain. A visual delight from the walls and art to the food, Tapas Barcelona is best enjoyed with more than two people because you want to taste everything! Definitely step outside of the comfort zone and always try at least one special (or more) that... More
