This is a one-of-a-kind restaurant. Great atmosphere and unique menu. This is no chain. Recently updated and remodeled inside. Very comfortable tables and booths. Good food and very competent staff. Quick service. Unique decor as well. Parking can be a bit of a problem especially on weekends. It is near a Purple Line and Metra stop on Main Street. One... More

Great food, decent value, fine service, convenient location. What's not to like? A bit noisy for a romantic evening, but that's not what they do there. Portions are good, and the menu always has some unusual items. Fine for vegetarians as well as omnivores.

This is a longtime gem of southeast Evanston . The decor is eclectic. The food is many grades above that of the chain food restaurants. The only downside is car parking in a crowded neighborhood.

A good Evanston favorite. The food is good and the atmosphere relaxed. The menu is limited but the food is always good and the service fine. A good place for lunch.

We went Sun about 1:15 for brunch and only waited 10 minutes for a table. Service was good; server was super helpful. I got the Greek omelet and enjoyed; my honey got the Florentine Eggs Benedict which came with ham off the bone (not your typical Florentine!), and my daughter had the Crab Cake benedict--we all enjoyed our meals. The... More

The Lucky Platter was wonderful! A varied menu, I could not decide between the buttermilk fried chicken or the pot roast. The waiter said hands down order the pot roast. What a perfect suggestion! As soon as my fork touched the meat, it fell off. It was so tender. The vegetables [brussel sprouts & butternut squash] were great as well... More

Went this afternoon for lunch. I had the Greek omelet and my friend had the Tandoori chicken. I think these are dishes we've both had before and they were good. This was our first visit under the new ownership. I think they put in new tables and chairs and possibly added some. Seemed crowded and noisy. They are about to... More

My wife and I live in Evanston and there is a huge choice of restaurants. Lucky Platter remains our "go-to" restaurant. Oh yes,the restaurant interior is quite interesting, if not entertaining. We go there frequently, without reservations and the wait is never long. Soups I've ordered are Pumpkin and Tomato Bisque. For dinner my wife always gets the Vegetable Tagine,... More

For something different stop by the Lucky Platter. They have freshened up the space but kept it funky. Classic Evanston.
