3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2015 NEW

Went this afternoon for lunch. I had the Greek omelet and my friend had the Tandoori chicken. I think these are dishes we've both had before and they were good. This was our first visit under the new ownership. I think they put in new tables and chairs and possibly added some. Seemed crowded and noisy. They are about to... More

My wife and I live in Evanston and there is a huge choice of restaurants. Lucky Platter remains our "go-to" restaurant. Oh yes,the restaurant interior is quite interesting, if not entertaining. We go there frequently, without reservations and the wait is never long. Soups I've ordered are Pumpkin and Tomato Bisque. For dinner my wife always gets the Vegetable Tagine,... More

For something different stop by the Lucky Platter. They have freshened up the space but kept it funky. Classic Evanston.

first off, we LOVE the lucky platter. however... We came in to LP today and the meal was good, . Eggs were fine, eggs Benedict were still delicious, sausage was incredible as usual. All was great except for the pancakes. Has browns were also so-so. The main reason i come to LP is to get the sourdough pancakes that are... More

I didn't actually sit down to eat in the restaurant. We were going to be in the neighborhood and it was recommended that we stop here to get some 'flakies'. My son ran in and got some to go. (He got a menu and we saw that they weren't listed). But they were wonderful!! They're a fruit filled pastry, about... More

A neighborhood staple for years, Lucky Platter has a fun and quirky decor featuring great paint- by -number art work and found object sculptures that your eccentric aunt might have made. That said the food is yummy and solid and the service is good. There are choices for vegetarians as well. It gets really busy on the weekends but that... More

We've been coming to this spot for years and years. It's recently transformed itself again with a recent refurbishment - new ceiling, tables etc. It's a rather fun little spot with paint by numbers hanging on the wall, and all sorts of other types of art. Their breakfasts are wonderful, albeit non-traditional in most instances. I love the florentine benedict... More

We always go to Lucky Platter when we are visiting Evanston. I like the horseradish crusted Tilapia and the sweet potato fries. They always have wonderful tomato soup and chicken pot pie. The soy mustard salad dressing is great. It can get very crowded for weekend brunches but is worth the wait. They recently remodeled but kept the funky artwork... More

I've been to the Lucky Platter for both lunches and dinners, and have never been disappointed. Succulent, flavorful, imaginative dishes, and the decor - kitchen utensils fashioned into sculptures and paintings on the walls - is a delight to look at. The place is always bustling when I've been there, and yet the service never falters.
