We've been coming to this spot for years and years. It's recently transformed itself again with a recent refurbishment - new ceiling, tables etc. It's a rather fun little spot with paint by numbers hanging on the wall, and all sorts of other types of art. Their breakfasts are wonderful, albeit non-traditional in most instances. I love the florentine benedict... More

We always go to Lucky Platter when we are visiting Evanston. I like the horseradish crusted Tilapia and the sweet potato fries. They always have wonderful tomato soup and chicken pot pie. The soy mustard salad dressing is great. It can get very crowded for weekend brunches but is worth the wait. They recently remodeled but kept the funky artwork... More

I've been to the Lucky Platter for both lunches and dinners, and have never been disappointed. Succulent, flavorful, imaginative dishes, and the decor - kitchen utensils fashioned into sculptures and paintings on the walls - is a delight to look at. The place is always bustling when I've been there, and yet the service never falters.

Not just standard breakfast fare - lots of originality and style at this restaurant. Very popular. Be prepared to wait a while on the weekends, especially at brunch.

We stopped there for lunch and just missed their breakfast service by minutes. We started with the gazpacho appetizer and it was flavorful with a mild kick. I had the BBQ chicken salad and my honey had the BBQ chicken sandwich. We both enjoyed the food very much. Service was very good and we liked the eclectic atmosphere. I had... More

Used to be a favorite. Not sure if it was a bad day or new management but it will be a while before we return. Omelet was under cooked. Bacon was grossly over cooked and cold. 2nd cup of coffee was hard to get. Service was mediocre at best. Used to get 2 pieces of toast now you get one.... More

Casual fun place with whimsical decor. Great food any meal, so a great Go To place. Some of my favorites are: crab cake Benedict on corn bread, salmon BBQ, salmon Morrocan style, huge yummy salads, skillet breakfasts. Very bright & cozy. Come here often for friends' bdays & some years for New year morning brunch.

I went to Lucky Platter recently for the second time and was again disappointed. The portions are small, prices high, and service only average. I asked the server to make a small substitution and even offered to pay extra, but she refused flat out. I won't be coming back.

I was visiting family who live in Evanston who eat breakfast here often so we made sure to save time to eat breakfast here with them . I love having breakfast out but rarely get the chance to do so. The decor is so eclectic and quirky . Everything from the colander and crystal chandeliers, the metal sculptures and the... More
