Only fair fish feasting

Davis St. Fishmarket used to be one of our standby restaurants for good seafood, prepared to order in a variety of ways. Our last visit there, around Aug., 2014, was a disappointment. Fish didn't taste fresh, fish and side-dish choices were limited, and prices were much higher than in the past. I... read more

Have eaten here occasionally for almost 30 years. Food is always good. Used to have a more hip vibe, now often crowded with the residents of the large retirement communities nearby. Fairly expensive, but portions are generous and "cheap seafood" is seldom a real bargain in the Midwest. Bouillabaisse is always tasty. Cajun specials are good around Mardi Gras.

I have been to Davis Street Fishmarket five times in the past two months. Can't remember everything I have had, but not one bad dish yet. Oysters rockefeller, fish tacos, tuna appetizer, grilled calamari appetizer, clam chowder, jambalaya, poor boy with shrimp and with fried oysters, lemon fish, all amazing food--a taste of Louisiana for sure. My daughter loves the... More

This is a pretty classic place, but nothing really to write home about. So many other good options. But then my dad (85 yr old) says, hey let's go to that Fish place every time he comes to town, so it must really be a winner for him! I also had a friend come to town that is strictly meat... More

I met with work colleagues for dinner. At the suggestion of a colleague, I ordered the entree of jambalaya. It is served with generous portions of shrimp, crawfish and chicken topped with grilled sausage. It was tasty and filling. The service was quick and the wait staff is friendly. We had an enjoyable dining experience.

Always great for lobster fest. Value pricing and a properly cooked lobster. Used to come with sides.

An elderly relative had often enjoyed meals at the Davis Street Fishmarket, but has been unable to go for many years after being confined to a reclining wheelchair. Standard dining room table heights are too low to accommodate the wheelchair and it is difficult for her to leave the nearby assisted living facility. She wanted to go for a special... More

Pete Millers is a great steakhouse if you are a vegetarian. The spinach, broccoli and salads are excellent and the bake potato is well cooked and appointed. The steaks look great but have little taste unless you douse them in salt or steak sauce. The decor is very nice as is the bar and live Jazz appearing nightly.
