Had a mediocre experience at Pete Miller's in Evanston, IL. Having an early reservation at 5:30pm because we had a show to attend after, but it seems that the restaurant wasn't quite prepared to serve hot food on a cold~ish day. Don't get me wrong, the food (all steaks that our 2 couples ordered) was excellent quality, but when it... More

We braved the terrific cold to travel to Evanston for its acclaimed First Night on December 31. For many reasons (venues not readily apparent, too cold to trek between music sites etc) we gave up and enacted Plan B: we were starving. Across the way from where we raised our red flag, a curious pub-like restaurant beckoned. The décor was... More

Made an early evening reservation for New Years Eve with no problem. Since this was my first time dinning, I relied upon the reviews which indicated that there is music in the restaurant. However we were seated in the separate bar area which looked like a sports bar. Absolutely no music in the separate bar area. We discovered that there... More

This is an old-style steakhouse which also serves good seafood. Free parking is in a lot just up the street. Service was a little slow, but we didn't really mind. We were not in a hurry. The prime rib was very good, and was the only decently priced steak entree. They actually have non-lite, domestic beers on the menu (this... More

Four of us came here on a Saturday night and really enjoyed the music.... Excellent jazz band with a sound level which still allowed us to converse. The servers were friendly and helpful but the kitchen let the house down. The chopped salad was bland to me and offered little interesting in the way of veggies..... The dressing didn't do... More

I've eaten at Pete Miller's over 100 times over the last 20 years and while their approach has changed a bit from time to time, they still have one of the best (if not the very best) filet's in the entire chicagoland area. I've eaten at all of the big steak places in the city and Pete's is right up... More

While my husband and I love their steaks, the prices limit the frequency of our visits. However, burgers are reasonably priced and when I want a really good one in the company of friends, with live music added to the traditional old-world ambience, this is the place we choose to go. Karen Lee

The last time I was there, the food was great, but the service was not what it used to be. I had ordered the Queen's Cut Prime Rib-medium rare and my friend ordered the same Queen's Cut, but medium well on an end piece. When the order came, I got the medium well while my friend got the end cut... More

We visited Pete Millers when we were taking my son to move into Northwestern. Met up with some friends from long ago and enjoyed a very nice meal at Pete Millers. The ambiance is old style steakhouse and the food is not cheap but we all had a meal worthy of the price.

Pete Miller's steaks are excellent, creamed spinach not so much. They serve up a wide variety of steaks and trimming. A great place to go on a weekend evening just for a burger and some good (free) music along with dinner. Pricey though.
