The restaurant is clean and inviting. The food was served family style and was really quite good. Get a variety and share. Soaking up the food in soft bread gets very messy and the paper napkins were as thin as tissue. Beer and wine only but that was OK given the food. $10 corkage fee. The server... read more

Went for lunch with a friend. Only one other table was occupied during the whole lunch hour. Our food was delivered on one platter which was ok except it was hard to figure out whose food was whose! The bread sponge was cold and stale, the entrees were lukewarm. Service was poor - had to ask for refills of water... More

Addis Abeba offers a lunch special on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The meat portions are a bit sparse but that appears to be the rule for several of the Ethiopian restaurants I have been to in the Chicago area. The vegetable sides are excellent and the flavors distinctive. I asked for mild seasoning which I will change to medium next... More

Cool little place, great food, nice atmosphere. They walk you through the menu if you've never had Ethiopian food before. The bread they use to scoop up the food is delicious, as is the food you scoop!! The service was good as well. It's close to Space, so a great place to have a bite before the show.

I love this place! Great service, food and prices. No silverware--hands only for an authentic experience! Lots of vegetarian options.

I have been to this restaurant a few times and the food is always so good, I always want to keep coming back. I even have gone to Kenya, Africa and their Ethiopian food is as good as this places. So worth the drive out! :)

Four of us met here for lunch. The specials menu offered a mix and match variety of meat and veggies. We asked if we could get one communal dish with all of the options included. That was no problem & an excellent choice on our part. We enjoyed an assortment of mild and spicy treats. The spice level can be... More

This was my second Ethiopian dining experience. For those who have never been your food is served on a single, large platter (MESOB). A thin, pancake like bread (Injera) is served with your food. The Injera is your utensil (silverware). We went for lunch on a Sunday and were the first ones there. We enjoyed the Minchet abish (beef) Siga... More

I love Ethiopian food which is really a shame since I don't think we even have a restaurant in the state I live in currently (Alabama). Addis Abeba did not disappoint. I had the lamb with the lentil side and cabbage, carrot, and potato side. Because the food is served in the traditional communal method, I was able to try... More

The service was wonderful, the foods was good. It was the first time that I had Ethiopian food, not sure what to expect exactly, but it was definitely not bad, although not enough flavor. I like my food very flavorful with a nice spice.
