Huge lunch special

I'm in Evanston to pick up a couple shots of two sculptures at the post office for a documentary. I stopped here for lunch since it is close to the post office and the Davis Street Metra stop. My usual is the tempura udon soup. This was particularly good and had good presentation. For $10 it comes... read more

I went with my family and we ordered sushi, sashimi and cooked salmon over rice. The sashimi and cooked salmon over rice were average but not as gross as the sushi was. We ordered salmon and tuna rolls as well as the lollipop roll. The salmon sushi was INEDIBLE. Several of the salmon rolls were dark unlike the bright orange... More

LOVE their creative rolls with clever names. They're enough for lunch, with a bowl of miso soup and are beautifully "crafted" as well as delicious.

We go here a couple of times a month for the salmon teriyaki and the chicken teriyaki. They are both excellent. The prices are reasonable and the waitstaff is super. Not sushi eaters so cant comment on that. Also $5 cocktails on mon and tue(they use top shelf booze)Salmon is always perfectly cooked and fresh and my husband likes to spice up the chicken.Nice... This is a great Japanese restaurant to go to if you are wanting sushi or sashimi. Their selection is great and the quality is great. If you want other Japanese choices, the menu is somewhat limited. I had sashimi so I was very happy. My companions had other entrees, which were good; there just aren't many to choose from. (For... More

Love the freshness and ambiance. I'm usually not a huge sushi fan; however they changed my mind! Wonderful server who remembered everything! Best food ever!

This is a pretty high end sushi restaurant so the rolls and individual pieces are relatively expensive. However, the quality of the fish is very good, the service is always pretty good, and the menu items are unique and delicious every time.

I recently had a lovely dinner here with family. It's not too hard to find street parking nearby, and it's near the purple line, so never fear if you're coming from Chicago - the trek isn't too daunting! The restaurant has a classy but casual vibe, very zen. I had a glass of wine, and a seaweed salad, edamame to... More

We ate here in early March 2014 and had several of the deluxe rolls. They were delicious albeit somewhat pricey. We also had a tempura appetizer and it was some of the best tempura I've ever had. The varieties and combinations on the various rolls were a little unusual and that's why it only gets 4 stars instead of 5.... More

This place is DEFINITELY the best sushi restaurant in Evanston and in my opinion, one of the best sushi places in all of the Chicago-land area! Two of my favorite rolls are the Shiroi roll (which has garlic in it) and the scorpion roll (which is pretty spicy). They of course have many other excellent rolls to choose from as... More
