you can't beat Niemergs for the price. Food is pretty good especially breakfast. Hubby and I can easily eat for $15 or under in coffee shop.
Couldn't have been a better surprise - great food and friendly staff. Kids ate their food and wanted more, and our daughter's fruit topped waffle for lunch (yes, breakfast all day) was the best thing on the table.
This was our first visit to Niemerg's. We went on a Sunday for lunch and expected to have to wait. We were seated right away, our server was prompt and on top of things and the food was fantastic. The pricing was also very reasonable. Looking forward to going back!
Can't beat Niemerg's food. Period!! Good American cuisine. Home cooking at its best. Family owned. Their money goes into the food not the ambiance,so if you're a snob, move on. Known for their fried chicken and deserts but the menu is varied and generous portions make this the "go to" spot for miles. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a late night snack.... More
When attending Fun Fest at Mid America Motorworks we never miss eating dinner at Niemerg's. Niemerg's also caters the Saturday evening meal at Funfest and it's the best food you'll find in Effingham. The chicken meals are fantastic and they have a great salad bar. Save room for desert because their pies are to die for.
I have stopped here on my frequent trips from Oklahoma to Pa. It is clean, well run with an attentive staff. The food is always excellent, with adequate portions and is very reasonably priced
Place is divided into essentially 2 stores. One side is more like a diner and the other more for steak. I had steak tips and they were pretty good. They also included a decent salad bar in the price of the meal.
TripAdvisor needs to take "Steakhouse" off the name of this place. This place is basically a family restaurant (border line diner). When you pay at the register on the way out, that's not a steakhouse. That said, the clerk at the front desk of my hotel said they had good steaks. So I went with the rib eye. The steak... More
My wife and I enjoyed a delicious dinner. The food was served hot and prepared as ordered. They are known for great food, the greatest pies, and exceptional service. My wife and I dine here occasionally for breakfast, lunch, and dinner even though it's a 35 mile drive each way!
We had lunch here while stopping overnight in Effingham. We loved it so much, we're going back for dinner. Hubby had salad bar special of chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes, I had lunch special pork chop, dressing and mashed potatoes and gravy. They come with a salad bar, which has a nice selection including things like macaroni salad, pickle,... More
