Great coffee and yummy pastries!

Their coffee is amazing. The breakfast burrito is also outstanding. I stay away from the pastries, but they always look incredibly appetizing. This is a great local gem.

I love to get out in a little town and get the vibe of the place, and Saturday Morning at 222 is apparently the tradition for this kind of immersion. The espresso is very, very good and all done real barista style - no push-button excuse for an espresso machine. The pastries and pastry smell are heavenly. I had the... More

I first discovered Artisan 222 when I was practicing law full time and occasionally had a case in Edwardsville. After my first visit I always made it a point to leave an hour early for court so I could have a cup of coffee or expresso and a piece of their delicious pastry. I and my wife have spent time... We have been traveling away from the area for about 6 weeks and we looked forward to our Saturday morning journey to Artisan and the Farmers Market. The coffee is always excellent, fresh and hot and great taste. We had two of the scones which better than anything in our area. We had a blueberry and a mixed berry. The... More

Three of us had a mid-morning treat here on a Monday morning. The coffee was good as were the cheese Danish. There is limited seating inside and two tables outside.

I got a bacon and cheese stuffed croissant and it was heavenly. Delicious pastry, great ingredients. They serve Goshen coffee, which is absolutely wonderful. The space is cool, but small. I was there on a Saturday morning with a friend and we wanted a leisurely cup of coffee and pastry and to visit. It was just not possible given the... More

We saw the reviews of the supposedly great cinnamon rolls there, so we tried them (and that's all we've tried there). They were OK; a bit dry and definitely overpriced. Not nearly as tasty as the ones around the corner at Taste of Heaven. Lots of other menu items at 222 that looked interesting, so we may return to sample... More

We love this place! Weekend routine includes a bike ride to town to get farmers market staples and a leisurely sojourn at 222 bakery to enjoy pastries and coffee while watching the townspeople walk past. The owner/baker has perfected her craft. The take-home sourdough bread is fantastic. I stopped in on a Friday to try the pizza special (Fri only)... More

I was so pleased to find out that there is one bakery in Edwardsville really knows how to make appropriate baguette. I always come to pick one or two on Saturday morning. It is so good that you can't keep your hand off of it, you just want to tear a piece and eat it right there. Take a stroll... More

This place even though very small is possibly the best bakery in Greater St. Louis. The young woman who is the baker, owner and the boss apparently works countless hours to achieve her own high standards in coffees, sandwiches, soups and the Friday pizza fare. The dilemma is that 222 Artisan Bakery cannot accommodate more patrons (the seating is limited),... More
