This is a lovely, homey restaurant that was actually built as a home and converted to a restaurant. I love the atmosphere and decorating here. I've been going for years and have been partial to the huevos rancheros. It was my old standby, but the blue corn tortillas are now white tortillas and all around it just isn't the dish... More

Not only was the food great, the choices seemingly endless (in a good way), the service was fantastic, the coffee perfect, but the atmosphere (the place has a tree growing through it for goodness sake!) was superb! I will go back in a heartbeat if in the area. I've already added it to my list of good places to eat... More

Benedict's is my favorite place to go for breakfast...or lunch. Their menu goes beyond the ordinary, it is not your typical eggs & bacon place. I tend to order the same thing when I dine out, however their menu has been getting me out of that rut. I'm not much of a vegetable fan, but I tried Kathy's Healthy Scramble... More

Some of the best places are found by happenstance! This is a charming little place. On the outside looks like a residential home. This place is no ordinary breakfast place. The entrees are made fresh and with a little twist on breakfast food. I ordered Huevos Rancheros and will never regret it. My husband ordered the crab Omelette he didn't... More

Enjoyed the potato pancakes with apple sauce; asked for a larger side of fruit and the waiter more than accommodated with an appreciated plateful. The decor is somewhat dated; "midwestern colonial cute", could use an update to give it a fresh feel.

Did not expect to find such a selection, good quality and great service in this small town! Went there for breakfast twice during our 4 day stay in a nearby town.

Worth the wait for breakfast. Good selection from the menu and daily specials. Good coffee. Fun atmosphere.

This place used to be excellent for breakfast but today it was awful. I ordered a cheese omelet that was so over cooked it didn't even taste like they used eggs, asked for fruit instead of breakfast potatoes, nope and they are the packaged type not homemade. A real disappointment, and considering the prices that they charge I'll never go... More

My wife and I have travelled extensively across the US for the past 2 years and have seen the good and the bad in restaurants and eateries. We are now self proclaimed foodies! Between the 2 of us, my wife and I have been to Benedict's 5 times. We have lived in nearby Elgin for several years and only recently... More

May be the most successfully creative breakfast restaurant I have ever been to. The expansive menu takes awhile to review...almost too many choices...the choices are wide-ranging. I finally settled on a Moroccan omelette, fresh fruit, and beignets with Intelligentsia Coffee (would have preferred a stronger blend). Very pleased with my choice. Unique omelette and prepared/presented well. Cozy and home style... More
