On an especially balmy night, was able to share tapas & great wine with a couple of friends, sitting outside enjoying the weather, the food, drink & company. Great variety of cold & hot tapas, salads & a chocolate dessert that was the perfect end to a lovely experience. There are sandwiches & flatbread pizzas but didn't try them this... More

Downers Grove is lucky to have this place. They have great lighter fair, terrific beers on tap, good wine selection, a fun menu and outdoor dining.

We live in town. We love wine, cheese, and meats, and we had hoped to become regulars at this spot. We were there a few times in the summer to take advantage of their cute outdoor seating, but only found a seat out there once. The tables inside are uncomfortable. Using wine barrels for tables is clever, but one can't... More

A favorite place to share some chatter with friends over a glass of good wine and some fun light meals. You can enjoy yourself either inside or on the small outside seating area (always crowded). Alex and his gang are very attentive without being overly so, and the food and wine choices are good. You won't find the grocery store... More

The wine by the glass list is extensive, and if you need more choice, just grab a bottle from the many lining the walls. Seating is cozy and the outdoor patio is a great place to enjoy a summer evening. Service is attentive without being pushy. Great cheese and meat plate for just $20!

Made a visit yesterday afternoon and vowed to come home to write a review. This establishment used to be a charming place to go for a great glass of wine and some light meals and apps. However, last night was a truly the most terrible experience. Out of 5 glasses of wine that our party ordered, three of them had... More

It's a nice place to stop for some wine and cheese as an appetizer for dinner.

Had a groupon so made a lunch visit to this small wine cellar in downtown Downers Grove. The sandwiches were very good (did not have wine). It was a Sunday at noon, no one there but us. The waiter was also the cook and he seemed bored to death to be there. Other than that, I would recommend.

Downtown Downers Grove, Illinois, is gaining in charm and vitality each year. We've enjoyed many lunches at the fine restaurants up and down Main Street. We are happy to report of another fine restaurant, Cellar Door. The day was beautiful so we chose to sit outside. It was suggested that we think about the cheese and meat plate. We selected... More

This little nook is a delight. It is a wine shop and bistro. The setting is a wonderful place to sample wines and purchase your favorites. Particularly enjoyed the "Flights of Goumet Cheese and Charcuterie". The cheeses and meats were flavorful and described well. Salads were fresh and beautifully presented. Prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing... More
