A very tastey Viet restaurant i Des Plaines, Illinois

It is a small family type place. The art work on the wall are not like others that I have seen. It shows the life of a woman in old Japan. The food was as good as we hoped and is not expensive. Little Suzy recommended it to me and she is usually right.

We really enjoyed our first meal here and have been back several times. I worked in Viet Nam for a while and this is the real deal. Nothing fancy on the inside but great Pho and very reasonable prices. They get busy and sometimes the service is a little slow, but good things are always worth waiting for. :)

I had the beef pho - it was excellent. Friendly family that served us. I've been to Vietnam and the food here was the same -- the taste, the smell. Excellent

they charged me 2.00 to add shrimp to my lunch special and only added to small cooked shrimp! The best thing out of there is a soup and I can make that ! I feel cheated

this is our default asian place now. We haven't found a Chinese place near us that we like but this is even better. The Pho is tasty and our other favorites are the clay pot fried rice, Pork w ginger and orange is good too. Similar to sweet and sour but not as greasy and sweet. The noodle dishes are... More

As many reviewers have already mentioned this was one of the better pho in the northern suberb. Definitely going back when that pho craving hits.

Des Plaines doesn't have a lot to offer in terms of interesting restaurants, so this place stands out. The menu looks good, and the eggplant dish I tried was tasty. Their menu claims to be accommodating to food sensitivities, but their good intentions are perhaps challenged by English language limitations. I asked for not spic (digestive issues), but received ample... More

Been a while since I've had authentic Vietnamese food. Can't wait to go back. You know it's gotta be good when the locals come in to dine.

I had been going into the northwest side of Chicago for Vietnamese food. Then Dung Gia opened in Des Plaines. It is a nice restaurant. Their Vietnamese pancake is very good. Their Nuoc Mam is very nice and comparable to most I have had on Argle Street in Chicago. The staff are very attentive. They make their own Lime soda... More

Catching an earlier than usual train from Chicago, I arrived in Des Plaines an hour earlier than planned. Just off the metra track, a Vietnamese restaurant called Dung Gia sparked my interests. I ordered a beef sate (with a Vietnamese name I couldn't pronounce without graceful help from the waiter--don't worry, the foods are listed in English as well). The... More
