Homey comfortable feel

How often is it that you go into a bar and feel at home. The Twins Tavern is a place that I immediately felt relaxed and at home. There is a good variety of drinks and the food is good. The waitresses, while busy are attentive to the customers need. The overall feel is very low keyed, the noise... read more

Whenever we are in De Kalb, we have to eat here. On this trip, we ate here 2 days in a row. Italian Beef sandwich is one of our favorites, but everything on their menu is exceptional! Priced reasonably. Twins has a "homey" feel to it, where everyone knows your name. The waitresses/bartenders are upbeat & courteous. The restaurant is... More

When I return to DeKalb I alway attempt to make it to the Twin Tavern. I never fails to provide good, simple food, good beer, and a great venue for conversation. One can alway count on all three.

We've been going to Twins Tavern for over 20 years. Seldom do we walk in when there's no one there we know. The spaghetti on Wednesday nights is the best in town (maybe all of DeKalb County), and the weekend broasted chicken is similarly delicious. Mike, the owner, is usually on hand to greet newcomers and welcome back loyalists. The... More

Grilled smiling mike is my favorite. I like it with extra Marinara. Cheesy pot roast on an onion roll is also a favortie!

Great atmosphere, good burgers and sweet service from very pleasant waitress. My visit was like an episode of Cheers, where every one knew your name.

Loyal local patrons. Friday night fish fry is OK, but nothing outstanding. Place often smells from the frying fish.

Our family has been coming here for about 20 years. This is the classic neighborhood joint. It's on the south side of DeKalb and far from the university, so diners can enjoy their beers without obnoxious frat boys and gum snapping trixies crowding up the place. Twins is the place to bring your softball team after a win (or loss),... More
