Eating in Mexican restaurants often, I have become accustomed to being adjusted for. However, not here. I had a desire for fish tacos. The server told me they are not on menu. I told him it shouldn't be a problem, but he said they don't do that. He also told my companion they don't make fajitas in a shell. He... More

My husband and I both love this restaurant. The Pechuga Potosina is delicious. The never ending free chips and salsa are great. Waiters and Waitresses are friendly. Great place to eat!!

We usually visit the North end restaurant on Friday night to share the appetizer Nacho Fajitas with the vegetables and extra cheese. We are so stuffed when we leave. The free chips and salsa are usually good. Sometimes the salsa tastes plain but most of the time al is very good.

I always love stopping in at La Pot whenever I am in town. Good prices, great food. Always seem to be busy which is a good sign of a great restaurant. The only downside is that whenever I go out I love talking with the servers and I don't feel like the servers do that; they are more of a... More

We were looking for a local place to eat, not a chain. Located in a strip mall, La Potosina was a pleasant environment. Was busy on a Saturday night. The foot was plentiful and the wait staff pleasant. The food was OK but just sort of average. We both had enchiladas and if we went back, would try something else.

We normally select restaurants using TA while travelling. In this case, we did not and regret it. Travelling from Kentucky to Iowa.. we stopped for lunch. The Speedy Gonzolez ($4.99 for a taco, enchilada, and rice) and a Burrito Tipico $7.... both very bland and a bit greasy. No taste... The menu is quite large... but surprisingly, not very extensive... More

My daughter and I happened upon this restaurant while driving through Illinois. Nice atmosphere, attentive and helpful staff and good food and beverages. The prices were quite reasonable. Would recommend and would stop here again.

This place looks like a slightly fancier than average Mexican restaurant. That is what you get- better than middling food, and cheerful atmosphere with lots of slightly kitschy decoration, and menu with lots of choices, including some very good ones (my companion loved the Chile Colorado; my entree (stuff wrapped with a soft tortillas- but with a different name, not... La Poto, our affectionate moniker, offers a good menu and good food. Although the decor can be a little off-setting, the friendly staff and good food will soon put you at ease. The Burrito Potosina is tasty and fajitas are really good and the portions are generous. They have a limited choice of Mexican beers but the price is right.
