Very good food with a lot of choices and lots of flavor in each dish. They were easily able to accommodate my companion who is gluten free. I would go again. Prices are good as well.

Riccardo is a bit pricy but worth it. Their emphasis is seafood, but with an ample selection of other dishes. We had great salads and appetizer - the arugula salad was excellent. The main courses were cooked to perfection. My daughter said her pork tenderloin was the best she's ever had. My wife had a whole fish (Branzino) which she... More

I lived in Rome for 4 months and have travelled there since 2 or 3 times. Travelled to Tuscany, eaten at many fine and casual trattorias and ristorantes throughout Italy. Riccardo Trattoria is the only place in Chicao that I feel duplicates the feeling of being in Italy. They won't kill you with gigantic portions ad the pricing is very... More

Our concierge (W Hotel, Lake Shore Dr) suggested Riccardo's in response to my request for "best Italian in Chicago" .. and he was right! The ambiance is old time lounge, small, unpretentious and once seated (there are 6 chairs in the vestibule to wait/even with a reservation) .. Guiseppe takes over and you are wisked away to Italy! The scent... More

We had eaten here previously and I still have the same complaints about the noise, the cramped seating and the lack of service. However, the food this time mitigated some of the negatives. I had a wonderful risotto with Parmesan cheese and shaved truffles. It was really delicious. The salad I had as a starter was nothing special. We were... More

I love the understated dining room here. It's small with a few simple tables and chairs, but it nevertheless is updated. The food is up there with the very best Italian food that Chicago has to offer (gnocchi, veal, some great fish dishes). The crowd here is typically older, possibly some Steppenwolf Theatre goers. Entrees range between $20-30, but in... More

Menu was very overwhelming. Very Italian-50 specials on top of a huge menu. And it all sounded great! We told the waiter the 1 thing I don't love (mushrooms no but truffles yes please!) and just bring us food :) he did a bang up job. Awesome. Great value great food great service

Riccardo's was recommended by a server from one of our favorite restaurants. Went there as a party of two on a weekday. Our server was very friendly and I liked the ambiance. I ordered the grilled octopus as an app, it was good. We also shared the fried softshell crab. It was also good but the breading did not allow... More

This is our favorite restaraunt in Chicago. It's quaintly housed in a Lincoln Park grey stone, steps from the zoo. It's not your ordinary red sauce and pasta Italian joint, but an Italian based culinary experience.

We walked over from the Lincoln Rd. street fest having fought off the smells of sausages and big piles off potato skins. We had made an on-line reservation and arrived just as they were calling to see if we were on our way as our table was ready! We ordered four appetizers for the two of us. We prefer this... More
