Unique new experience !

We did make reservations, but because of the fact that the restaurant is not that spacious, it took a while getting a table for our group. Ethiopia conjures up the images of hungry nation thanks to Live Aid and negative report from this part of the world. However I decided to have start my birthday celebrations with evening meal, having tasted lovely food at an Eritrean restaurant on London's Brixton Road. I know the two countris are rivals but food connects regions Being vegetarian is not... More

My husband and I came without the kids. We made reservations online very easily before leaving the house. Greeted upon entry, and seated within minutes. Water glasses never went empty. Everyone pitched in to help every guest although we had a assigned server. Very pleasant atmosphere. Casual date night (as in clothes you wear to work and then leave for... More

We ate at Damera and had a great meal. They were running a super deal for restaurant week which was a pleasant surprise! The food, ambience, and service were great and with a bottle of wine and dessert basically free the deal was amazing. Nice work Damera

We have never tried Ethiopian food prior to our visit. We went during Restaurant Week so we had a good deal. We had the messob dinner with vegetables and meat. We thought the food was good, but after a while, everything started to taste same. This probably could have resulted from eating everything with the injera bread, which was slightly... More

This restaurant is a great place to go for sampling Ethiopian cuisine. The corner restaurant on north Broadway is well-lit on the inside, spacious seating, and the wait staff is extremely friendly and willing to help out with advice on dishes. My family of four ordered a sample platter and a lamb dish. it was perfect for us to learn... More

Having never experience a messob dinner, we were pleasantly surprised. We had our young children with us, and even they enjoyed the experience. It is located less then a block from the Lawrence stop on the Red Line, so it was a quick 20 minute ride from downtown to this restaurant.

Our first time at Demera will hopefully not be our last. Food was excellent and our server Betty (from Addis) took excellent care of us and made excellent recommendations. Everything was good. We did fish, meat and veggie selections with little spice. The injera was light and plentiful. There were 8 thumbs up among the four of us. The chef... More

Nice selection of meats and veggies. Perfectly flavored, good portions. Got the chicken tibs, shrimp and also the tilapia. (There were three selections for tilapia. I got the Last tilapia entree on the seafood section. Yummy!) go! Worth the visit!

We ate here because it was convenient to our hotel and it looked nice from the outside. If you've never had Ethiopian food, it's worth a try. No utensils needed. The food was placed on a plate in the middle of the table and everyone grabbed food with a piece of the sort-of savory pancake that you use to pick... More
