Great food

Husband and I were on vacation -- never had Ethiopian food before, so we gave it a shot! It was pretty good food and an interesting eating style. We used our hands and a sour flat-bread to scoop up the different entrees on a large shared plate. Afterwards we caught a show at the Green Mill... read more

The place was full, but not overcrowded, our waitress was attentive and friendly, we ordered the Demera Messob. Everything we tried was very tasty, and they even brought us more of one dish when we complimented how wonderful it was. Our waitress kept seemingly kept "upselling" us on options; appetizers, meal, drinks, etc. and this was off putting. Not having... More

Went for dinner at Demera and ordered the Demera Messob with 6 options. The portions seemed smaller than other places we've visited and the ye-shimbra assa was a bit on the dry side. The appetizer we had was the Sambussa sampler with a bit too much dough and lite on the filling. Flavors wee OK. The menu choices is rather... More

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant, the food was delicious and fresh, the server was great and the ambiance was wonderful. We Ate in a different Ethiopian restaurant before, but this restaurant is way better! Therefore, if you want excellent Ethiopian food, here is the place. Lastly, BYOB and enjoy!

Oh, my word. This was so amazing: the food, the dining experience, our server. I have to even cut this review short because there are leftovers in my fridge that I need to visit. Highly recommended - great area - and hit it up before a show!

I love Ethiopian food, and this place had dishes I hadn't seen before at other places. Also, they will make GF injera (teff flour only), for you. It was so good! Spicy lamb & red lentils were my favorite. I'd go back in a second.

We came to Demera for a family dinner & found it to be a very unique & educational experience. We did make reservations, but because of the fact that the restaurant is not that spacious, it took a while getting a table for our group. Once seated the service was a bit slow (it was a busy weekend) but the... More

Ethiopia conjures up the images of hungry nation thanks to Live Aid and negative report from this part of the world. However I decided to have start my birthday celebrations with evening meal, having tasted lovely food at an Eritrean restaurant on London's Brixton Road. I know the two countris are rivals but food connects regions Being vegetarian is not... More

My husband and I came without the kids. We made reservations online very easily before leaving the house. Greeted upon entry, and seated within minutes. Water glasses never went empty. Everyone pitched in to help every guest although we had a assigned server. Very pleasant atmosphere. Casual date night (as in clothes you wear to work and then leave for... More
