The high quality of the food could not make up for the lack of steady customers given its off the beaten path location. This was a great BYOB place.

I've dined at Dorado at least 8 times in the past two years. I've tried about half of the menu, it's hard to try new dishes at Dorado, because everything has been amazing so far. The past two times I've introduced friends to Dorado, we have ordered o couple of my favorites, the Tenderloin with portobello and chipotle mashed potatoes... More

We eat there frequently, and every meal has been excellent. The staff is friendly and efficient and the decor is quite acceptable. They have a trout to die for ... best ever.

This is my go to restaurant for a consistently great meal...especially with a large group since it's byob. Try the duck nachos and the dover sole, and the pork chop or the tenderloin...I give up. Everything on the menu is a taste sensation of French - Mexican fusion cuisine. I love Dorado.

We love this restaurant. Very interesting pairings -- smoked salmon quesidillas, poblano peppers stuffed with scallops and shrimps -- ...and it is BYOB!

I have been here twice now with friends who live in the area. Both times it has been spectacular!! The first time I shared chips and guac with my friends, and got my own shrimp entree. It was all fabulous. The second, more recent time (a year or 2 later than the first time), my two friends and I just... More

I have been to this restaurant many times and have consistently enjoyed it for its creative cuisine and excellent execution. They blend French influence into Mexican food, and their duck nachos are their claim to fame. I've found, though, that all their food is excellent, especially for the very reasonable prices. I particularly love their mole, though their green and... More

Lincoln Square is emerging as a lively and wide-ranging restaurant area in Chicago, with a number of excellent choices within a few blocks of the square. Dorado has become my favorite--creative and nicely prepared Mexican fusion dishes. The tilapia was terrific--spicy without overwhelming the taste of the fresh fish. With a couple of excellent wine stores nearby, the BYOB policy... More

Come here for the amazing food, but not for quiet ambiance! It was really loud inside (birthday party of 15 people and several kids). However, the menu (Mexican / French infusion) was a very unique cross between upscale dining and traditional Mexican fare (think nachos). The service was prompt (maybe a little to prompt) and friendly. I quickly forgot about... More
