Nice Neighborhood Restaurant

It is nice to not have to go on the Northside all the time for a nice dining experience. My husband and I went for dinner for our anniversary last year and we loved it. We had the scallops and risotto for an appetizer. It was cooked perfectly! And it was delicious. I could've eaten that as my main... read more

If you would like a nice dining experience with fabulous food and drinks try this restaurant. The wait staff is always very pleasant. Their skate fish, beef ribs and steak frites are excellent choices. It is also nice to eat in the bar area.

My husband I and went here for our anniversary this year. We hadn't been here for several years but remembered it fondly and it didn't disappoint. When we arrived they wanted to seat us at a small two top table between two other couples. I mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary and asked for a cozy booth and they granted... More

My husband and I went here about a year ago and it was the WORST restaurant experience we have ever had!!! The service was terrible. It took us about 45 minutes to get our drinks. The mussels tasted the way goat dung smells! We have NEVER sent a plate back to the kitchen but this time we did. There was... More

It's expensive but worth the money. Chef owned and run and he's usually the one cooking. It's impressive. We had the hummus and breadsticks, my bf had the skatewing and I had the arugula salad and crabcakes. It was hard not to order the skatewing because it's amazing but i wanted to try something new. The flavors this guy puts... More

I took a couple of our volunteers on the South Side of Chicago out for a lunch to say thank you for all of their hard work for our nonprofit. The French food and fresh bread and service were all excellent. The decor was beautiful. It was fun to have the owners stop by our table to be sure all... More

There are not many nice restaurants on the south side of Chicago let alone any good ones except Koda. The food and the service were outstanding. Definately my favorite place to go.

We dined at Koda last evening and were absolutely blown away. From the moment we arrived we were treated the way patrons should be. The owner greeted us and had our table ready and took our coats!! Our table was perfect and the service was great, the ambience was worth the visit all by itself. The food was 5 star... More

Staying in Beverly

Neighborhood Profile
Beverly
One of the South Side’s most architecturally arresting neighborhoods, Beverly is a quiet area where you’ll find more residents than tourists. You don’t have to travel far to see an Irish castle: the Beverly Unitarian Church sits commandingly on South Longwood Drive. This traditionally Irish neighborhood is now a mix of cultures but still maintains its strong roots in the neighborhood pubs lining Western Avenue. Though Beverly may be off the beaten path, its hilly geography makes it visually unique. Enjoy the neighborhood’s green space in the Dan Ryan Forest Preserve or visit one of several historic homes and districts along South Longwood Drive, including one of four Frank Lloyd Wright homes in the neighborhood.
