Enjoyable restaurant, dinner

I had been to this restaurant for brunch and wanted to try it for dinner. It was very good. The atmosphere was fun and a little hectic. We went there with reservations on a Friday night. I had wine, my daughter had a cocktail and her fiance had a beer. He had a veggie burger and my daughter and I... read more

Came here with two friends, atmosphere was great, wine was lovely and not too pricey. Staff was attentive and helpful, and service was prompt. The food was fine, but not consistent: together, we had calamari, a beet salad, a burger and a nicoise salad. The calamari were fabulous, not at all chewy or tough, and with an interesting sesame topping.... More

The Concierge at the Waldorf Astoria, where we were staying recommended this restaurant. We went on a Wednesday evening with our two boys. They made a grilled cheese and fries for my 6 year old, even though it wasn't on the menu. My 12 year had the burger which he said was one of the best burgers he has ever... More

Tavern on Rush is right next door so you might be seduced into stopping there for lunch or dinner While that is also a good choice, don't overlook the Luxbar. Great food with a relaxing pub atmosphere and excellent service makes the Luxbar a very pleasurable Chicago dining experience.

This is a very nice weekend breakfast spot in a beautiful part of downtown Chicago which was hopping on a Saturday morning. Despite the crowd, service was very good. We had a business conference and we stayed over an hour but we were not rushed out. Food was generally good. My beef scramble was tasty but could have been better... More

The place was warm and comfortable. They had a fire place going in the back that gave it a great atmosphere. The food was very good. Order the Shrimp Bisque soup, very good and will warm you up from the Chicago Cold. I also had the crab cakes, excellent. The rest of my party enjoyed there food. One had the... More

We stopped in to get out of the cold and enjoy a glass of wine and cocktails. The bar area is beautiful with lovely views out onto the street. We had a high top at the window and it provide a wonderful spot to watch the activity on the street. The service was excellent as were our Old Fashioned cocktails!... More

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
