Never Disappoints

I've been at The Gage numerous times over the last two years and it never disappoints. From the staff, to the menu items, to the food. No complaints. I just was there on July 1st for a get together with a friend who had moved to the East last but was back in Chicago for business. The Gage Old... read more

In town for business, the local partners suggested The Gage for a good mid-price meal in walking distance. We were pleasantly surprised to find a pretty fancy pub. Low lighting, cozy booths, and a excellent menus of great wines, beers, cocktails, and fresh interesting dishes. We shared a light summer appetizer of stone fruits over ricotta. Then chose entrees ranging... More

We stopped in here for lunch after walking around Millennium Park. Really nice atmosphere, great service and really great food. I had a their take on a chicken gyro, which I believe was a special that day, but it was absolutely delicious, amazing french fries too. My husband had their fish and chips which he declared to be the best... More

We also found this restaurant on Tripadvisor and were looking forward to having a special meal here. First,,the food was good, even better than average but the ambiance and service made us want to dash out as soon as we were done. Our waitress acted like she simply couldn't be bothered. This restaurant is not inexpensive, in fact, it's fairly... More

I had the opportunity to reconnect with a friend from Illinois State (BS, '79) at The Gage during this year's Chicago Blues Festival. I was pleasantly surprised to see Bavaria's Weihenstephaner on tap. The drinks were a bit pricey, but overall, I found their selection to be diverse and accommodating to every taste.

I met a business associate here for drinks after work and I loved this bar. Located on Michigan avenue in the heart of Chicago, this is a great place for meeting business associates for drinks or dining. They served my favorite Bourbon - Knob Creek so color me happy. I will definitely return to The Gage.

We arrived for a late lunch, and the place was packed; but we were quickly greeted and seated. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, with a typical Chicago feel--elegant without the pretentiousness. We had the fish and chips and the buffalo chicken sandwich. The fish and chips were very good. The batter was crispy. The ratio of batter to fish... More

We got the Dagwood sandwich, the fish and chips and some local root beer. Everything was delicious and the staff was very kind and accommodating of our two-year-old.

I enjoyed a fun dinner here with several friends and tried several unique dishes. For appetizers, we ordered fried pickles and shishito peppers. Both were very delicious! We also had an order of mussels which come in a yummy sauce that you just want to keep dipping your bread into! For dinner, I ordered the fish special which was a... More

This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city.
