Excellent brunch

We had an excellent brunch at the Gage: - the waiter recommanded the "House made corned beef hash", result : really good and generous portion. A MUST have... - the buffalo chicken sandwich, also excellent and very tasty. Original mixture of cellery and chicken. It works.

The food was more impressive than the beer. Which is a nice change from many supposed gastro pubs that have a lot of beer selection and disappoint with the food. The trout was amazing.

Was in Chicago and met a friend at this restaurant. It was Tuesday night and the place was very busy. The location is on Michigan Avenue which was good for us as it was a short walk from our hotel. We went with the family which was okay. It wasn't hugely child or family friendly but it was okay. Service... More

The Gage was highly recommended by Matthew, the consierge at our hotel. We told him that we wanted a brunch since we were attending the musical Carousel at the Lyric at 1:30. Matthew called to make our reservation explaining to them we were going to the Lyric. The Gage staff timed it brilliantly so that we were not rushed but... More

We were in Chicago for 4 days and happened to have lunch at The Gage. It was so good that we went again for the Saturday brunch! Everyone was so attentive, from the hostess to the young man that bussed our table. We never had to ask for our water glasses to be refilled. The waiter we had on our... More

When meeting a nephew for 6:30 reservation, I arrived very early and checking with restaurant staff and dinner guest they graciously moved the reservation up an hour. Our waitress was very knowledgeable for the wine, cocktail, beer and menu selections. We shared the charcuterie board which I can heartily recommend. My ravioli was excellent as was my nephew's bone in... More

We had lunch at The Gage this past Tuesday during a break from our marathon visit to the Art Institute nearby. My pulled pork sandwich & my husband's fish & chips were very good as was my house-made cranberry-lime soda. Where things went south a bit was when the waiter realized we weren't going to be ordering more expensive (read:... More

I am not usually a very adventurous eater, but I had “PBR” Battered Fried Pickles with Smoked‎ Serrano Aioli - really good. I also had the soup of the day which happened to be bean puree. It was very good too. The service was excellent and our waiter even recommended a great place to go for deep dish pizza......Lou Malnati's... More

The Gage continues to be an outstanding spot on the Chicago scene. You can rely on the restaurant for outstanding food with no compromise on standards, and since inception, has been a good place to find a great selection of outstanding craft beers. The bar scene is coloured by proximity to Millennium Park, which brings in tourists, the Financial district,... More

We selected this restaurant because of the reviews and photos from others. We didn't know really what to expect but Chicago is known for their food. The atmosphere was good with the front of the restaurant which reminded me of a pub-like setting with the back of restaurant setup for regular dining. Although this was a lunch engagement for the...
