This is a really good, well-run restaurant with a very distinctive atmosphere. The food is excellent in relation to choice and quality. The waiters are all very attentive though not obtrusively so. This is a great place to eat and I would recommend it to any visitor to Chicago. It's only a stone's throw from Millenium Park and the Art... More

I had two dinners here while visiting Chicago in July. On both occasions we ate on the patio which is very pleasant and felt private even though it is along the street. I had the fish and chips which was excellent and the pumpkin ravioli, another good choice. Service was excellent as well. Highly recommend this restaurant. Such a treat... More

This was 1min away from our hotel! we actually heard about this restaurant being talked about in the elevator...so when we saw it walking by we sat down for dinner! we got a table outside right away. not a lot of food choices but it was delicious! we had the special - red snapper with arugula salad and rice. really... After visiting millennium park it was a quick walk across the street to the Gage for dinner. The restaurant is a little noisy but that's because it is full. We should have requested an outdoor table but didn't know it was a available. Open table reservation made it easy for us to be seated right away. The menu includes many... More

Fortunately there was a table outside, or we couldn't have eaten here. The noise inside is incredible. Even going to the bathroom required earplugs. That aside, though, we enjoyed a couple of very good cocktails and assorted nibbles, including a very good cheeseboard and some tasty fries.

This was my second visit; I've tried to like it but I can't. Far too crowded -- waitress had to reach over me and touching me to wait on next table. Far too noisy, could not hear my table companion nor the waitress. I just don't like the menu. Few selections that are healthy or available to gluten sensitive. ho... More

Great location across from Millenium Park on Michigan Ave. It has a bit of an odd menu. They have a great beer and mine menu and some interesting specialty cocktails. Prices are typical for the area, maybe trending to the low side. For appetizers, we had the mussels and the poutine. I thought the mussels were great with a wonderful... More

I've now visited twice. Once with girlfriends, the next with my family and another family. Both times I have been super impressed with the food. The quality just oozes out of the food. This time around I had the lobster roll with fries ($23) It absolutely hit the spot in terms of a sandwich at lunch time - albeit an... More

I've eaten at the Gage a few times and it never disappoints. It's my favorite place to go when I visit the Art Institute. I've had a few good dinners there, but my most recent visit was for brunch. My sister and I stepped in for a late brunch on a Saturday, were seated immediately, and treated to a really... More
