Excellent food and very good service

It is the perfect match after visiting The Art Institute of Chicago. It is located crossing Michigan Str. half a blok from the main entrance. The food is great, mainly sandwiches and burgers, the staff is very friendly and the place has good decor and atmosphere.

I had amazing time here! We were looking for lunch during a long break at Chicago. I saw reviews of this restaurant and noticing that it is probably expensive but wanted a treat. So went there and checked the menus which wasn't that pricey. There was some wait time so we sat at the bar. The barman was amazing: we... More

My wife and I live in neighborhood and have had decent experiences at this restaurant before, but on 7-27-15, a very unsatisfactory experience. We ordered a bottle of Jordan Chardonnay, which was our waiter's recommendation as they did not carry the Cakebread Cellars Chardonnay I requested. Following too long a wait, he returned to report they were out of Jordan... More

My wife and I ate here this past weekend. The Gage is located right across the street from Millennium Park, a short walk from our hotel in the Loop. It has a large bar area, a separate large dining area plus a small outdoor patio. Since it was a Sunday night we didn't try to make a reservation, we were... More

This place is loud and very busy! I was not unhappy with my entree, but the dessert was hardly edible. I did not finish it. I have special dietary needs and the chef came out to visit with me. Service was great, but it was not my best dining experience in Chicago.

Went to The Gage this last weekend after we had been to a show in the theater district. The beer selection was fantastic. The mixed drinks were also good. We ordered a selection of appetizers and desserts. Everything was fantastic. The fried pickles were excellent. The berry pie was great (although the corn ice cream was just too weird for... More

We dined at the Gage during our visit to Chicago. The restaurant was very busy so we were glad we had a reservation. It took awhile for a server to come to our table but after that initial delay the service was great. My daughter and I split several plates from the first and second course menu. For "small" plates... More

Went there fairly late on a saturday night. Was still pretty full. Generally a pretty young crowd. The food was good the price was fairly reasonable. The server cam on time as did the food. The server had an odd tome and was impolite. While any one can have an off night it does tend to leave a bad taste... More

The Gage is in a great location, right across from Millennium park with a huge bar, perfect for drinks after work and a dining room the back with great American food. Best dish: Venison burger and fried pickles Skip: Shishito peppers
