I recommend the fish and chips, excellent! The pork belly was dry. I recommend brunch / lunch and reservations. Avoid on weekend nights, very loud, crowded, and hard to get up to the bar to order.

Had a steak which was good but not on the par with the best of the Chicago steak restaurants yet more expensive. Bar is very nice and service is good. Bar selection is great especially for the scotches and gins. Ambiance is fancy "pubby" in a good way. Had enjoyable dinner but probably will not return.

I've been going to The Gage for several years and it has always been excellent. Food quality and service both are exceptional. The overall experience is great.

this was a great restaurant on a very cold night. The fish and chips was fantastic and the fried pickles were excellent. For dessert, try the bananas foster. It was great.

We stopped in after touring museum. Great service. Nice place to stop for a cocktail. Reasonably priced for downtown. Good atmosphere. We did not eat here, but the food looked amazing!

The Gage is a nice lunch spot that is reasonably priced and has a great location. We loved the Buffalo Chicken sandwich and the Roasted Woodland Mushroom sandwich both at $12.00. The Fish & Chips and Venison Burger at $17 were tasty as well. After visiting Millennium Park or shopping at Urban Outfitters or Macy's on State Street head on... More

Easy location downtown, excellent bar. Front of the house staff are good, wait staff are great. The place can get crowded for dinner service so be sure to book a reservation. Menu is solid, so is the food prep.

This place was recommended after an online search of Chicago restaurants. It's close to Millennium Park and we had lunch there after our visit. I had a bison burger and it was delicious. Great service and very reasonable prices for quality of food.

We went for a fancy dinner as this is on the high side of prices for us - not for downtown Chicago standards mind you but for us yes, (Over $120 light dinner for two with wine). The restaurant is very nicely done inside; has a great wine list; excellent varied menu and is centrally located in the Loop (near... More

There are many busy brunch spots in Chicago to enjoy, and after experiencing places like Wildberry Cafe, Yolk and Eggsperience, this time we were searching for a more upscale, intimate spot so The Gage was exactly what our group was looking for! The food was impeccable and the service was good. The restaurant has a cozy environment and I hadn't... More
