When it's 6:00 on a Friday evening in Chicago in the middle of summer, you never expect that you'll score a table on the street without a wait. It must have been in the cards. The atmosphere is elegant, yet relaxed. The menu is not extensive, but nearly everything appealed. Whether looking for Pub Fare or a dinner before theater,... More

I've been to the Gage many times for drinks, but had dinner for the first time the other night. A lot of the dishes sounded delicious, but when they came, they were just alright. Nothing spectacular. I ordered the duck, which came a little rare for my liking. We had the scotch egg and fried pickles to start. You can... More

We met some friends for lunch and sat outside. The food and drinks were well prepared and tasty. The street traffic was a bit noisy, especially when emergency vehicles sped past, but the atmosphere and service made it worthwhile.

Five minute from the bean you'll find this great resturant. Outside dining on a cool summer night. Excellent service. We never felt rushed by our waiter on a busy Saturday evening. He made great recommendations from the menu from cocktails to main meal. Chilled watermelon soup, sea scallops and amazing burgers. As we were sent by our hotel concierge we... More

In Chicago for a week on business we found ourselves going twice to the Gage. First night in town and a little travel weary we stumbled onto this beautiful restaurant/tavern. Food was delicious and the service great. The small menu was packed with flavorful options, and the draft beer choices were many. Portion sizes are perfect and the place works... More

The food was okay but not for the prices they charged. I've had much better quality for smaller charge. I expected a lot more for the price. The service was ok but our water boy had a bit of an odor. I'm pretty sure he'd been working all day. The atmosphere was nice but really really dark. I was overall... More

This is the perfect gastropub. A great selection of beers, a varied and unique menu, good service, and a lively crowd make this a great stop for regulars and tourists. I make it a point to stop by whenever I'm in Chicago.

Upscale pub and grub. It's a bit expensive here more than I would have liked to spend but I knew what I was getting into so I was certainly alright with the prices. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was good but it was a complete mess. I hate when sandwiches end up being messy and hard to... More

The place was packed but i managed to get a seat at the high cocktail tables. Prompt service started with a very good glass of Rosé. I had the Louisiana Crab Cake with chorizo, fried egg and a side of bacon, very nice indeed! Looking at the table next to me, I wish I had had the Irish Breakfast but... More
