I've now visited twice. Once with girlfriends, the next with my family and another family. Both times I have been super impressed with the food. The quality just oozes out of the food. This time around I had the lobster roll with fries ($23) It absolutely hit the spot in terms of a sandwich at lunch time - albeit an... More

I've eaten at the Gage a few times and it never disappoints. It's my favorite place to go when I visit the Art Institute. I've had a few good dinners there, but my most recent visit was for brunch. My sister and I stepped in for a late brunch on a Saturday, were seated immediately, and treated to a really... More

The Gage is my favorite gastropub in the city! Perfect downtown location (you may run into some of Chicago's local celebrities from athletes to politicians) but that's not the only reason it's great. The food is great, comfort with a twist of sophistication. Wine and cocktail list is expansive, something for everyone. I've been to The Gage with friends, family,... More

We had a reservation for a weekday evening and the place was really crowded. However, we were seated promptly, had great service and a pretty good meal. For a nice dinner in the heart of Chicago, the Gage is a great choice.

I'm listing The Gage along with Girl and The Goat as my favorite Chicago eats. I knew nothing of it until an hour before crossing its threshold. The place was busy but not crowded. Dimly lit. Hip but not pretentious. The food. The poutine was fantastic. Enough easily to share with two or three. I treated it as my first... More

This restaurant was recommended to us and it didn't disappoint. Had lunch here and the fish and chips were among the best I've had and kids had burgers and they were great too. It's a busy spot and lots of ambience from a bustling place.

My husband and I booked this as a less expensive option for my birthday and we were so pleasantly surprised. First of all, our server (Wes) was extremely thoughtful, and exhibited the kind of care you'd expect from a concierge. His answers to our questions were astute and descriptive, so I got EXACTLY what I expected. To be honest, it... More

For a Tuesday night, this place was packed. Someone likes it. Service was slow, though the hostess said it was always busy. Menu is very limited, of 5 of us only 1 person found something they truly liked. Food was good when it came, but holy expensive. You can find a better, more interesting spot for the money.

We ate outside so we could enjoy the weather and view of Millenium park. Seth was our server and was very knowledgable about the drink menu which is quite extensive and gave great recommendations on dinner choices. The best part was the desert we had. Thier pastry chef makes this Corn and Blueberry dessert that is to die for. The... More

I was referred to this restaurant by a local connection, so a client and I went here for lunch. We didn't have a reservation but were able to sit in the bar area with no wait. Katie, our waitress, was very nice, knowledgable and patient (my client and hadn't seen each other in a while and were talking a lot).... More
