Description: 676 Restaurant & Bar will be closed for renovation beginning 1/7/13 and will re-open 1/28/13. During this time we will provide our services in the Picasso Ballroom located on the fourth floor of the Omni Chicago Hotel. We look forward to seeing you soon. 676 Restaurant focuses on using ingredients from Midwest and local farmers whenever possible. The fare is approachable, organic and sustainable - local food treated the way it was intended.Chef accentuates the food selection with an ever changing selection of hand-made house charcuterie, honey from his own hive, produce from rooftop gardens located on the sundeck at the Omni Chicago Hotel and pork from the exclusive Acorn Edition IV pig out of Norwalk, Iowa. Chef and his culinary team’s dishes will bring back memories of fishing from the dock for bluegill, hunting game in the north woods, summers spent picking apples from the orchard trees hoping not to get caught and standing in awe at the plethora of jarred food under grandma’s basement stairs. That is the Midwest. That is 676. With unparalleled views of Chicago’s famous Magnificent Mile, this unique restaurant experience is augmented with rustic touches, communal plates and a bit of nostalgia of the foods you remember as a kid.

We wanted to go in for a drink and food. However, the menu is very limited and geared only to the organic eater. There were no sandwiches, pizza or snack-type items available. We decided to skip it.

There on a quiet Sun eve. Service was good. Poached apple salad delicious, as was the beet salad. Trout, however, was a little dry and veggies under it had way too much vinegar, nearly unedible, despite their being local, etc. Pork chop was very good, but BBQ sauce tasted almost bottled. Grilled peaches with it delicious. Chocolate cake dessert scrumptuous.... More

On a recent business trip, several in our party recommended the 676 Restaurant in the Omni Hotel (676 is their building number). The restaurant purchases from select farms only, so they can tell you where each item is sourced. The restaurant has a very upscale look and refined decor. Menu options (from appetizers through the wine list) are listed on... More

For some great views while you enjoy a sip of bubbly and a appetizer, I did and my wife and I had the breakfast buffet, expensive but good and healthy options are available.

Many of the restaurant options around Michigan Ave are associated with hotels. I was expecting standard hotel restaurant fare, but was pleasantly surprised with the wonderful atmosphere and excellent food served at 676. The wine list is well stacked with lots of variety and the service is top notch. The fare is upscale dining and the prices match, although the... More

So, this bar is in the Omni hotel and I gave the hotel a raving review. This restaurant//bar is nice (we did not eat there), drinks are expensive, however, the prices for the same exact drink changed on a daily basis. For instance, we paid one price for a drink one night and the next night, we were charged approximately... More

We read that 676 was worth a visit, so we looked out for it while shopping on the Magnificent Mile. You access it from the side street as it is part of the Omni Hotel. When we walked in for brunch at around 12.30pm, it was pretty quiet and we had to find someone to seat us. Once this was... More

I needed a good restaurant in Chicago near the Peninsula Hotel for a business dinner for 7 on July 21. The 676 in the Omni Hotel was perfect. The setting with views above Michigan Avenue was fun and the staff was welcoming and efficient. We had the dates and Margherita pizza for appetizers, which were delicious.. I had trout for... More
