The concierge at the Westin suggested this cafe for breakfast. It was a few blocks to walk and it was a beautiful morning. We didn't have a wait, but by the time we were finished, there was a half hour wait. We chose a table outside. The waitress was helpful and efficient. My omelette came in a skillet with sliced... Breakfast was served fast. Heuvos Rancheros with my poached eggs was fresh little bit spicy but tasty. Bread and whipped butter fresh, too. Complimentary prune and slice of orange nice touch. Good downtown neighbourhood place.

Overall, this is a very good breakfast place. Quality is consistently good, portions are large and the price reasonable. We had the expresso, which is Ily, and we tried several plates over the three mornings we ate breakfast. The pancakes with blue berries were good, though one day the berries were more plentify than the other. The eggs with hash... More

We were told to have breakfast here by the doorman at our hotel and we had breakfast here for all three days we were in Chicago. What a wonderful place to eat. The food was great and the service was excellent. The waiters were helpful if you wanted something different. Waits can be long on the weekend.

We visited this OVER RATED DINER because of referrals from people around the city.We live in in the Lincoln Park area. Big Mistake! The coffee was pure stale MUD! Sorry. If you pay a few bucks for coffee. At least make it flavorful. We ordered homefries.Disgracefulwhite potatoes with some over burnt CHARCOAL edges withno onions or seasoning. The waitress had... More

Tempo is a good place for breakfast. It is Chicago's version of an NY/NJ diner. The egg omelets are huge and are served in a skillet with potatoes underneath. The service was excellent.

Tempo was recommended to us for breakfast and it was so good we ate here every morning of our Chicago vacation! Our children loved it too. The lines were long but moved quickly and if you eat before 9 it is much quieter. Cost about 50 dollars for a substantial breakfas for a family of 4.

The skillets are large and are perfect for sharing, but ours was just average and lacked flavor. My son had pancakes and they were just OK as well. I wouldn't return.

Fast, friendly and freshly cooked. A great start to our days in Chicago. The waffles are especially good - but then the corned beef hash fan amongst us said that was the best, too!

Very good place.....recommended by Security Guard at Water Tower Place, several blocks west, very good food, with some very interesting options......can be crowded, usually sign of good place where locals go to eat....cash only, but ATM in lobby.
