Average diner breakfast

Tempo Cafe is a middle of the road establishment. Their food or atmosphere is not memorable. However it is clean and the service is fast and usually friendly. They serve breakfast 24 hours a day so that keeps me coming back.

Had breakfast here twice in a coupe of days and first time was good the second time average. Food is cheap and good and you get plenty for the price. Less than $10 and you will be full for half the day. Also open 24 hours. Our issue the second time was dirty glasses and cutlery and i don't mean... More

Had lunch here and ordered a burger. Despite being asked how I wanted it cooked it arrived well done. In my opinion a good burger depends on nice bread, good quality meat that is well spiced and cooked medium rare and what really makes the difference is the sauce. This is where a restaurant can stand out. At Tempo Cafe... More

It was wonderful to be back at the TEMPO CAFE. We ate our three breakfasts at this busy, friendly place on the corner that offers great breakfasts. It is also open for lunch and dinner, but we just had time for breakfasts. Highly recommend.. Don't let the lines worry you, it goes quickly.

Tempo is a first class breakfast eatery. Generous portions and excellent quality. The bread is signature and the pastries are top notch. And now Tempo accepts credit cards which was a frustration for years. Add this to your list for breakfast.

The food was excellent, from the cooked prune starter to the house-made orange marmalade to the French toast. Nice atmosphere. The waitress was efficient, but we felt rushed. To their credit, they get you seated quickly and have a friendly staff.

This is THE best breakfast place hands down! The food is great, reasonably priced, the service is wonderful too. I will make sure to stop in whenever I am in Chicago.

If you are familiar at all with Greek diners, you will recognize this as being one. The hostess was AWESOME and unflappable navigating through the crowds waiting for a table. It was packed but we only waited 15 minutes for our table. We were ushered in for free coffee while we waited which was a pleasant surprise and nice touch,... More

Food was good, as was service. Big selection on the menu. Greek yogurt was excellent but at just under $6 bucks for a parfait size serving is steep. We would go again.

Recommended by the Doorman at The Whitehall Hotel around the corner last Saturday. Most excellent! Small and quaint, short 10 minute wait. Excellent service from the greeter at the door to the waitrees at the table. Very friendly and curteous. The food? Most excellent!!! Highly recommend!!!!
