Tasty Breakfast

The staff was very friendly and there was plenty of choices on the menu. Both my husband and I left full and very pleased with our meals. We would come back for lunch and dinner another time.

This cafe is a short walk from the magnificent mile park hyatt hotel. We only had to wait 3 minutes for a table on the fourth of July. This place was packed elbow to elbow but the food is worth it. We had the the "scrambler" and the "scrambler skillet". Huge plate of food including home style potatoes, three eggs... More

We ate here two mornings in a row, if we lived nearby it would be hard to keep us away. Waffles, omelets, and patty melt were all excellent!

This is an extremely popular dining location serving casual breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Tables are close together, there is a noisy breakfast vibe. Waitresses are on top of it all, taking orders, serving coffee, moving quickly and efficiently. Breakfast is served in small skillets. I had an omelette with veggies and cheese served over home fries. A small side of... More

We loved the Tempo Cafe! The kids ordered waffles, pancakes, omelettes and every one of them was delicious! The Greek toast was awesome-thick and fresh bread with homemade orange marmalade. The waitress was quick and efficient- all the orders were perfect. This is a must visit for breakfast if you are in the area.

I have been to Chicago twice and eaten at this diner 4 times if that tells you anything. My husband's family discovered it on a prior trip so when we visited over Christmas we were pleased to take shelter from the cold in this warm, casual, friendly diner. The food is great, the portions are huge, and the service is... More

We went as a family for breakfast today and it started all good. My son ordered an omlette and half way through he complained that he can not chew something. That something turned out to be a piece of plastic/straw kind of a thing. The waiter took it and apologized and took my son's omlette of the bill. We asked... More

If you like a hearty, country breakfast, this is the place to go. Many of the dishes come served in a skillet. The scrambled egg mix was to die for, much better than an omelet. Their pan fried potatoes are the best you will ever eat. In fact, you will probably never want another hash brown again. Absolutely a must... More

We were fortunate to find this local restaurant being close to our hotel and recommended by them. We are there most mornings for a very quick and generous breakfast. The welcome was very warm and the prices very reasonable. They are open 24/7 though we only visited in the mornings. Weekend were very busy but worth waiting the 15 minutes... More

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
