We eat here three times for breakfast on our trip to Chicago. I had a Denver omelette, heuvos rancheros and bacon with toast. My wife had pancakes, eggs with chorizo and bacon and a waffle with maple syrup (3 days for 3 dishes!). All dishes were very good with good portions and nice fried potatoes served with egg dishes. If... More

Visited Tempo Cafe in August so it was nice and sunny, unlike now I assume, so we opted to sit outside. Menu was quite large so should be able to find something for everyone. I went for the omlette as did my girlfriend, she got hers in a pan, they must have been running out of pans because mine was... More

We were staying at the Whitehall Hotel recently and found this cafe close by on State Street. We had breakfast there four times during our stay and it was excellent and very good value. The French toast was a particular favorite. Highly recommended.

Close to Weston at 909 N Michigan ave. Reasonably priced, hearty servings,... Service not the friendliest but the food made up for it.

We were introduced to Tempo about ten years ago as an alternative to eating in the hotel. We haven't looked back since. It is a three block walk from where we stay and unless it's pouring rain, this is where we go for breakfast. The service is quick, but no one rushes you to get out even on very busy... More

We went over to grab breakfast and our favorite Illy coffee, but the line was so long that we just grabbed takeout. The large portions and great food make it a very popular destination for visitors and locals alike! We returned that night at 2 am (yes it is open 24 hrs!) and see why it is worth the wait... More

Had breakfast here with my sister-in-law. She frequents it often. They have a large selection of omelets-- I had the artichoke. There were generous amounts of chokes-- and the dish was layered on top of home fried potatoes and accompanied by toast. I was hungry and not a peckish eater-- but that was too much even for me. You won't... More

I was visiting Chicago and wanted to have a nice, diner-like, breakfast outside of the major hotels or chains. I wanted to "eat where the locals eat". The concierge at the Four Seasons recommended Tempo Cafe, a couple of blocks away from the hotel and Michigan Avenue. What a treat. Their speciality is the omlette, served piping hot in a... More

This is a good place to have breakfast. The food is good and plentiful and the prices are very reasonable. The only slight drawback is that it is often very busy and the space is pretty tight.

Lots of good food at a great price. I think my wife and I got outta there for under $30 and this was for dinner! I even had a nice sized piece of apple pie for dessert. The waitress couldn't have been nice so I gave her a big tip (more than 20%). Stop by at least once and you'll... More
