An excellent selection of deep dish pizzas. Prepare to wait for a table, there can be a row in the front.
There's a wait, but it's worth it. The wait is after you are seated, which is not a problem with great appetizers and drinks. Fun place in a great location to take a break from Michigan Avenue shopping.
Visited recently on a Friday night. Arrived at 4:30 and had no waiting to be seated. It takes an hour for your pizza to bake so arrive well ahead of time. Ordered the garlic cheese bread appetizer and it was excellent. Even though the pizza seems really saucy, it doesn't taste that way. Lots of cheese and meat on ours.... More
This was my first time eating at Gino's, and it was amazing! The service was great. Our waiter was helpful in explaining the menu. I love the decor - fun and urban. I actually ordered the pasta, and it was wonderful. My husband loved the pizza.
Came here with some friends the other day and had a fantastic time. Really great service with pretty good pizza to compliment it well. The pizza wasn't overly expensive and was a pretty good value for the amount of food we got.
Never really heard of Gino's until we drove by and saw a huge line waiting outside, so we figured to give it a try. The crust on the deep dish pizza is made of cornbread, which takes away from the classic Chicago taste we're used to.The cornbread crust was dry and hard to bite, very crispy. Overall, the atmosphere was... More
So we landed in Chicago around 1pm, caught a shuttle to our hotel on the Magnificent Mile, and after checking in, this was the first place we went. I have a big time love for deep dish pizza, as long as it's done properly. And Gino's East is the cream of the crop as far as I'm concerned. Normally a... More
The waitress did not know the menu. Took forever to get a cup of coffee. No hostess available for seating. Ordered the pick 3 cheese/meat tray, two small squares of asiago, small thin slice of brie, teaspoon and a half of the goat cheese, tablespoon of the seasonal compote served on the spoon with a half of a small small... This was our second time to Gino's. My daughter wanted to go back because she remembered you could write on the walls and seats with Sharpie. (White or metallic silver recommended). The place has a great atmosphere and good pizza, but it is a little pricey. I didn't remember that part of going there, so that tainted my enjoyment. It... More
We ate at Gino's East on our first night in Chicago (4 night stay) and it was DELICIOUS! We ended up going back 3 out of the 4 nights we were there. We tried a few different toppings all were great. We had fantastic service - our waiters were very friendly. My boyfriend is a HUGE eater and between the... More
