Good Deep Dish, Cool Restaurant

This was our second deep dish experience in Chicago and we were excited to try it out, both based on reputation and simple, straight comparison obviously. The restaurant itself is quite cool, with big expansive rooms, casual feel and almost every surface, wall, post, etc. with writing & names all... read more

Pizza was good, just prepare for a long wait whether you are dining in or taking out. I placed my order at 7:10, ready at 8:18.

They had great pizza and a wonderful atmosphere. When you walk in the walls are covered in writing from where people have signed it over the years. I would recommend trying Gino's East when you're in Chicago.

Honestly i am not sure how Ginos rocks our over all other pizza places. It was just so so (per our large party of pizza lovers). Meat was jus a bit gristly even. The gluten free was really not good at all. A server told me they didnt even make it there. Dominos destroys them in gluten free! Not as... More

The pizza was basically pizza toppings on cornbread not very impressive, also had the deep dish nacho they were the best part. The beer was worth the stop so if you like beer the. It's a good place to go.

While visiting Chicago for Memorial Weekend we were told we had to check out Gino's pizza. We took a taxi there and got right in. It was still early. However the service was not great. Our waiter was slow, did not come by to even offer refills. The pizza was not anything spectacular like we had hoped based on the... More

Came in on Sunday and the restaurant wasn't even busy. The server Victoria was very gracious and told us the pizza would be about an hour, which is fine because we have been to other pizza joints that said the very same thing. The problem I have is that Gino's pizza isn't all that. It was tasteless and the crust... More

I was determined to try Chicago style deep dish pizza while visiting the Windy City. Upon a friend's recommendation, I chose to sample Gino's East. My husband and I shared the Meat Pizza that was full of sausage, ham, pepperoni and plenty of cheese. I was very impressed by the pizza, but while we were waiting for 45 minutes for... More

If you come to Chicago you must try this place! Bear in mind that the deep pan pizza can take up to an hour to make but it's definitely worth it. It's huge and we couldn't finish it but they will do a doggy bag for you to take away. The flavours are wonderful. One of the best pizzas I... More

I visited here by myself and they were very friendly and accommodating and gave me a booth to myself which I appreciated. The place looks great, busy but warm and inviting and has a large bar for drinks. You come here for the Deep Dish Pizza though. I had a small size all to myself and managed to finish it... More

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale.
