Always a treat!

A breakfast tradition whenever visiting Chicago. My favorite -- white chocolate caramel and pretzel. Serving is rather large and should be complemented with something savory.

If you like food avoid this place. It's a glorified canteen that serves huge portions of unappealing tasteless food. Despite the ingredients the omelettes are devoid of flavour! the pancakes look disgusting and I never thought it was possible to not serve a decent Caesar salad.. I ate none of my food. You can see from my reviews that I... More

We visiting with six friends and had an over the top breakfast. The eggs Benedicts were delicious and we all got to try a bite of the pancakes. Our server was awesome despite being busy. Worth the wait.

We stopped at the Bongo Room for breakfast on a busy Saturday morning. The portions are very generous and the food was very fresh and made to order. My husband and I both ordered omelets. The potatoes that came with the omelets were so good! The coffee is just average but we did like the food and the service was... More

Mediocre overpriced food. If you favor fanciful pancakes or waffles (which we did not have) perhaps you might like it here, but if you want a savory breakfast, this is definitely not the place for breakfast. I ordered a simple breakfast: 2 eggs over hard with thai sausage, potatoes and an english muffin. The eggs were cooked just like I... More

Very crowded, but worth the wait. I got the lobster eggs Benedict which were delicious! I am a New England native, and this lobster was sweet and tender. Well worth the price. I devoured every bite. My daughter got the egg burrito which she also loved. The potatoes were cooked perfectly. The pancakes here are legendary.

This is my second time here. I have never seen anyone with an empty plate. The portions are big so be warned. The pancakes are a must. Warning: they are super busy in AM so there may be a wait (but with it). Also it can be very noisy when full (thus four stars) so you will have to raise... More

Lovely food. Great service. It's usually packed, but we managed to get a seat. We always enjoy the service and food.

Great place to get breakfast before hitting up the museums. We got the strawberry banana pancakes and the breakfast burrito. Both were phonomenal. There was much more we wished we could have tried as well!

What the Bongo lacks in atmosphere it makes up for with exceptional food. The French toast is as good as it gets. We also greatly enjoyed our vegetarian Croissant with an egg, the Crossiant Sandwich and Omlette. If you prefer coke products, your meal is complete. The service was good. The restrooms could have been cleaner.

Staying in Downtown / The Loop

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city.
