Went to Chicago with my boyfriend to visit a college friend for the weekend. I'll admit...I was worried when I saw the line. I am usually not a "club" type of girl and I feared I was about to be sucked into douche bag madness. There was no entrance to speak of and the bouncer looked smug. Once we were... More

Everything about this experience places it outside the norm of the typical visit to a cocktail venue. Yes, it is as unassuming as you might expect a former warehouse to look on the outside. Yes, you will find a line . . . usually not too long. You will be greeted and 'vetted' for ID prior to entering. It's fair... More

Excellent cocktails and ambiance. Just do it. And don't choose a drink, let the bartender (pardon me, the mixologist) do it for you.

Yes, you'll stand in line, even though you may not be sure you're even in the right place, being as how there's no signage whatsoever, it's worth it. Once inside you'll mingle with hipsters of all ages and enjoy great and innovative cocktails. We had the fried pickle appetizer and it was delicious. Can't wait to go back.

it is worth it. Our group loved the diverse drink choices, we had a great people watching table and kind of enjoyed the music which was interesting.

Great spot for a curiously strong drink in a very cool atmosphere. Delicious drinks made with care to suit your tastes and delicious little bites to go with them.

Had read some reviews and had reservations around the corner so we stopped in for drinks before our meal. Not easy to find, better have the address, there are no signs (see picture attached) and from I have read they change the wall out front often. When you finally find it and enter you are in a narrow hallway with... More

After a long night of cocktailing that included Three Dots and a Dash, The Punch House and others, a friend of mine and I continued on to The Violet Hour and were not disappointed. We actually never ordered anything- we just asked the bartender to make something up and it was just what we ordered. Right when we were wrapping... More

I feel cooler for just having been there! What a creative cocktail menu in a very trendy - must see - setting!!! Our waitress worked with us to find amazing cocktails that were a foodies' idea of heaven. The layout of the bar truly embodies the speakeasy feel. We truly felt cooler for having been there. Great experience!

I have been coming here ever since it has been open. Never a bad choice. Chicago's best cocktail bar by far! Don't know what to order? A safe bet is always their Old-Fashioned.
