Great tasting food at reasonable prices with a bbq "joint" atmosphere. Family friendly, counter service, friendly staff. Try the outstanding brisket. Fries are served in a paper bag. Taste sides include Mac and cheese, cornbread, beans. Don't wear white unless you, don't mind getting bbq sauce on your clothes. A Chicago "must".

Local friends took me to this place, and they say that the brisket is the ONLY thing that you should order when you come here. Unfortunately, on the day we visited, they were out of brisket. Still, we ordered the ribs as a backup plan, and they were very delicious. The restaurant has definitely more of a fast-food type atmosphere... More

Love their Brisket, it was so tender and delicious. Best BBQ sauce and awesome coleslaw. Will definately be back, with a group of people, and softest corn bread. Amazing brisket chili, you have to try it. Just AMAZING!!!

A friend who is a local took me here for dinner one night, and it was one of the most fun meals I have had in the US. I loved the reviewer who described it as a 'dive bar for BBQ'. There is a real sense that you have walked into a microcosm of Chicago life. Every walk of life... More

Smoque is like a dive bar for BBQ. Tried the brisket and both style of ribs. All were very good (though the brisket portion size was relatively small). Surprisingly, I found the leftover ribs even better the next day for lunch. Don't expect much from the seating area...most of it includes 3 long tables that are shared with other diners.... More

No reservations so had to wait about 20 minutes to put in the order and then got a seat and the food came about 10 minutes later. It is BYOB which is good as long as you know. The Baby back ribs and sauce was nice and tangy. The fresh cut fries were very nice. The coleslaw is vinegar based,... More

When I saw that Smoque BBQ is rated as the No. 13 restaurant in Chicago by TripAdvisor, I blinked my eyes and took another look. No mistake. No. 13 restaurant in Chicago. Not the No. 13 barbecue restaurant, the No. 13 restaurant of all types and sizes and flavors. In a city that boasts an ever-growing list of outstanding barbecue... More

Best bbq in chicago, hands down! They are one of my husband's accounts at his job and the first time he took me here, I fell in love! The bbq sauce is delicious, the brisket is phenomenal. We've tried other chicago bbq joints, but we only come to smoque!

The BBQ was good, but off the beaten path and limited seating so if you plan to go and dine in, get there early or during the week when its slow....
