Great for take-out, Excellent BBQ

This is a small BBQ place located on the corner of Grace St. & Pulaski Rd. The one bad thing is that parking can be a problem, as there is no off-street parking. The first time that we had been there was shortly after they first opened, and they are much improved. They certainly are set-up more... read more

The BBQ itself was great. Melting meat with wonderful flavour. The sides were a bit forgettable. Not bad in any way but just not up to the standard of the meat which is a pity. I had the slaw, the mac and cheese (no flavour at all) and the beans. Beans were the best of the sides, mac and cheese... More

BBQ barely gets any better than Smoque. The BBQ is great and the sides sublime. Small place with few tables so expect a wait of you go at prime time. Stay, it's worth waiting for.

My son and husband say this is a must if in Chicago. They both had brisket sandwiches and said they were great. I had Mac n cheese. It was good not the best ever but good. The pecan bread pudding wed also very tasty but beware it is very rich. Fries and coleslaw were also tasty. I'd def recommend. Also... More

A couple of friends have been raving about Smoque but I thought they were exaggerating. Not so! Getting there involved a 20 minute drive up the clogged Kennedy Expressway....this had better be worth it, I thought. It was. We were a party of five, coming from different parts of the city. I found street parking 3 blocks away in a... More

Smoque is considered one of the best BBQ restaurants in Chicago, year in and year out, so I was looking forward to having dinner there. It's a bit out of the way for tourists, but very close to the Irving Road stop on the blue line. Just 2 or 3 minutes from the station, actually, so there's no reason for... More

Although a little out of the way for tourists to visit Smoque BBQ was by far one of the best bbq places I have ever been to! I got the Brisket Sandwich with chips and extra pulled pork on the side, staff were friendly and all of the food was absolutely delicious. When we got there, it actually had a... More

Best of everything. Don't be surprised if the line is out the door. Place your order and the staff will find you a table. Basically seating is all together at long tables, but no one seems to mind. Get to know all different people. Great ribs, great chicken, great brisket, great slaw, great baked beans. Just all over great.

We have visited Smoque before when in town, and decided to revisit on this trip. There were 6 of us, we were lucky to beat the main crowd, so found parking easily on the side street, as well as seating inside. We had an assortment of chicken, ribs, barbeque, with a variety of sides. Liked the coleslaw a lot, the... More

Smoque BBQ is just as the name implies, a deep smokey flavored BBQ. Smoque's does a dry rub on the meat that is reminiscent of Old School BBQ of my past. Memphis, KC or St Louis style for me is somewhat confusing, all I know is I normally get wet BBQ guy but this was a tasty change because they... More
