Our favourite breakfast spot

Yolks turned out to be our go-to place for breakfast each morning. Large, clean and quick service. Add that to a wonderful menu and you have a winner. Price was reasonable, although the price of coffee was a bit steep. Such a variety to choose from.

This was my favorite brunch meal during my short 4 days in Chicago! The plan was to come here before heading to Art Institute. I'd heard about the long waits and had wanted to come earlier but got off schedule waiting on a long line for doughnuts at Doughnut Vault. Don't worry, we didn't eat all 5 we got until... More

You have to order the steak, the eggs, the pancakes, the toast, the coffee, the fried potatoes. Amazing.

The food is good and plenty. The service is hit or miss with the waiters. Usually very crowded and seating is very close to each other.

We had breakfast here on a Saturday morning. Wait was not too bad, 10-15 minutes. We noticed right away, this place is full of hard working employees. The kitchen staff was hustling to get the food out. Waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. We had the crepes and the corned beef hash with eggs. As the other reviews mentioned, it... More

went on a Sunday morning and the line was out the door. Traveling alone I was able to get a seat at the counter right away. Katie was my server and very friendly. She suggested the all star combo which was 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon and choice of pancakes, crepes or French toast. I went with the French... More

We had breakfast here around 9:30 on a Saturday morning and the line was not bad, the service was excellent and the meal was among the best breakfasts I've ever had. I had the "benny" which was eggs Benedict but with corn beef hash and tomato. I asked for no muffin and my order came without muffin but also without... More

Our family of 5 waited over an hour and finally left for Navy Pier. The staff at Yolk did not have the mental ability to seat our family. In hindsight I should have asked for two separate table. Brainless management, we will never visit this establishment again.

I love American breakfasts ;-) And Yolk is one of the better places where I've had a proper American breakfast. The portions are sizeable, and tasty. The only complaint is that the place really has a chain place feel - don't expect quirky interiors or originality here. But the food was great, that's what's most important!
