My friend and I selected Eddie V's by the ouija board method. Had only the restaurant's self description to guide us. We totally lucked out. Eddie V's is really a wonderful restaurant - it certainly doesn't feel like it is almost brand-new...it feels like they've had years of experience in food prep and service. The food was delicious - but... More

We went to this restaurant not just one evening but returned to dine there the following evening as Elroy our "master server" promised a meal with no repeats. He guided us to another memorable meal, with the seafood being prepared so delicately and deliciously. We would highly recommend the restaurant to locals and visitors alike. Really nice wine list, very... More

We walked in on a whim, walked passed the maitre de, and selected one of the few remaining high tops in the bar. Don't assume this is an ordinary bar. While it was a very crowded Friday night these tables with white table cloths were still available. Most people in ye bar area were waiting for their reserved tables....why wait!... More

We had dinner at the restaurant in October. We had made reservations before so there was no waiting time when we got there. The service was great. We went with our Server's recommendations for food and were not dissapointed. I highly recommend the Maine Lobster Tacos and the Pacific Ahi Tuna was prepared to perfection. Definitely the best Tuna I... More

The meat? To die for… The rest? well, a bit bland for my taste buds, but then again, there's always salt. The service was pleasant and even though the waitress was somewhat overwhelmed by our questions (what are your specials?) her cheat sheet saved her. The ambiance is modern, but a bit loud for me. Whatever happened to architecture and... More

Real nice seafood restaurant! Had dinner in the lounge bar area with soft live piano blues. Excellent service and recommendations from servants. Delightful food for a business dinner. Will come back with the family on a next Chicago trip!

1.Ambient was good, a bit noisy and somewhat crowded. 2.Wine list was extensive but cocktails were limited. 3.Oysters were very fresh. Sweet and spicy sauce was very delicious. 4.Big eye tuna sashimi with yuzu was a special menu. This dish was tasty, mild sweet and soft tuna with sour and special aroma from yuzu (Japanese citrus). That's nice. 5.Swordfish with... More

Our first dinner at Eddie V's in August was so exceptional that when we returned to Chicago in October we made reservations. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is elegant without being "stuffy". The staff is excellent, took care of every request and were appropriately friendly and entertaining. The food, well that speaks for itself! Everything we ordered from the... More

We took our son and his wife here for dinner. On this trip we experienced Gibsons, Shaws, Atwood, and Kinzies - Eddie V's surpass all in the atmosphere of the restaurant. It is romantic, well designed, and tables are not on top of each other. Our waiter was excellent, so many of the other restaurants mentioned rush you in and... More

Fabulous food, fabulous service. Get reservations as they were busy. The tuna tartar appetizer was just amazing with a nice citrus and sesame flavor. The oysters were beautiful but the fish entrees were melt in your mouth fresh and cooked to perfection. Two of our guests had steak and one commented it was the best steak he'd ever eaten. The...
