Description: David Burke's Primehouse in The James Hotel features a modern steakhouse menu with hand-picked meats that are dry-aged for 28 to 75 days in a Himalayan salt-tiled aging room on premise. An intimate new destination for special gatherings, Burke's Dining Room is a noteworthy addition to David Burke's Primehouse. Conceived as a modern interpretation of the classic "chef's table" meant for private dining, it serves to complement Chef Burke's progressive, whimsical fare.#1 Steakhouse in Chicago - Chicago magazineBest Burger in the U.S. - Food & WineBest Steakhouses in the U.S. - USA TodayBest Steak Ever - Rahm Fama of Food Network Chicago Tribune"The complex, earthy flavors that dry aging brings out had me swooning. This is the kind of meat I want my server to set in front of me when I go out and pay top dollar for a restaurant steak. The extra layer of richness the brushed-on 'beef love' added really put this one over the top."

Probably the best steak in Chicago. The 75 day aged ribeye was simply incredible. Full gamey flavour, cooked to meduim rare perfection. Expensive, but worth it for each mouthful of meat heaven.

There are so many other choices in Chicago for a good steak. We went to this one because of the hype surrounding it. What a disappointment! We had a much better steak, and overall experience, at Ruth Chris. The place is noisy, crowded and too busy.

A very, very good experience They know how to do steak, and the atmosphere is great, really lively. It's not cheap but value is remembered long after price is forgotten. Service is tip top, ignore the freeloaders below complaining about not getting free champagne!

After a poor experience about 1 year ago, we gave David Burke another chance and am happy we did. The steaks were prepared perfectly, but the seafood starters were excellent. Fresh and delicious. They have added an incredible page of wines by the glass via Coravin, that complemented dinner. Older Bordeaux, and wines you usually cannot buy a glass of... More

Came here for an anniversary dinner with my girlfriend on a Friday night. Let the server/receptionist know we were celebrating our third anniversary. Server congratulates us and offers Champagne to toast and give us a few minutes to look over the menu and drinks. I thought that was a very classy move by the server and restaurant. Scanning through our... More

Great meal paired with a great wine list. Got a little tour of the facility by the chef. Check out how they age their steaks. Its really interesting.

We've had delicious dry aged steaks at home so the thought of a restaurant prep was mouth-watering. Unfortunately it was just blah...ribeye was much too thin, roasted veg side was undercooked, potatoes blah. But the shrimp cocktail was delicious. John our server was fine: gave us our space w/o hovering. I must also add the Viagra induced make-out sessions in... More

Have dined here twice, most recent October 2014. Went with friends, had the 35, 55, and 75 day aged steak. The 55 day is best, but its hard to say, I felt the char on the steaks was slightly different on each (however they were all same temp in center). Other than that, sides are solid (but not memorable). Service... More

I had the 75 day aged steak. Notes of blue cheese, venison, bouillon-- the very essence of beef. It's a must do! The cocktails are house barrel aged and quite good. Very relaxed atmosphere-- not pretentious- it's fine to have a beer with dinner and not an expensive Bordeaux. Great side dishes-- mushrooms, potatoes, oysters, and the best Caesar salad... More
