Description: David Burke's Primehouse in The James Hotel features a modern steakhouse...
David Burke's Primehouse in The James Hotel features a modern steakhouse menu with hand-picked meats that are dry-aged for 28 to 75 days in a Himalayan salt-tiled aging room on premise. An intimate new destination for special gatherings, Burke's Dining Room is a noteworthy addition to David Burke's Primehouse. Conceived as a modern interpretation of the classic "chef's table" meant for private dining, it serves to complement Chef Burke's progressive, whimsical fare.#1 Steakhouse in Chicago - Chicago magazineBest Burger in the U.S. - Food & WineBest Steakhouses in the U.S. - USA TodayBest Steak Ever - Rahm Fama of Food Network Chicago Tribune"The complex, earthy flavors that dry aging brings out had me swooning. This is the kind of meat I want my server to set in front of me when I go out and pay top dollar for a restaurant steak. The extra layer of richness the brushed-on 'beef love' added really put this one over the top."

Food was okay especially given the attitude and price. Maybe good for a drink and conversation (before or after dinner elsewhere).

My brother and I went out to celebrate mutual promotions and we had the fortune to go to David Burke's Primehouse on a night when the A5 Kobe Ribeye was the special of the evening. Special doesn't even begin to describe an A5 Kobe steak, should you ever have the opportunity, please do NOT hesitate, you will not be sorry.... More

A GREAT place even if you don't eat meat...but if you do...BEEF HEAVEN! From the minute the bread arrived I knew I was in for something really good ( and was not disappointed). On a previous visit I had the Filet on the Bone which was excellent. But this time I went for what FOOD & WINE Magazine rates as... More

This was an overall great experience! My wife and I went to David Burke for our wedding anniversary. We had Scott Petersen as our waiter...excellent server! It was a upscale casual night. The food and service were the best we have ever had. I highly recommend David Burke Primehouse!

I've dined here more than a few times now and feel that this restaurant and their management deserve a really nice review. The first time I dined here, I was with a group of Muslim friends that were from out of town but knew about David Burke's as they serve Premium Halal Steaks. We had planned to be at the... More

Went here for a business lunch. Our group enjoyed oysters, maple bacon skewer appetizer and lunch sandwiches (fish and steak burger). It was a wonderful meal. Definitely recommend the maple bacon skewers and the steak burger. It was the best burger I have ever had.

First time there. Great drinks. Steaks were excellent, full of flavor. The red velvet cake was perfect. They brought out the beaters so kids can eat out of the bowl. Then the cake came and we loved it. When done we toured the meat locker where the beef is aged. What a great night!

Specifically dined at this restaurant because it was recommended by our hotel concierge. I enjoyed the neat and modern environment, but that was about it. My steak was extremely charred, and I couldn't even finish it. When I asked the waiter why the steak was so charred, he said that all of the steaks were made that way. On a... More

I've never paid so much for a steak in my life, nor have I tasted one so intense in flavor. Try the James Cocktail. It is a nice way to start off. Chris was our server and was amazing? He told you what flavor profiles to look for and expect from steaks to cocktails. He explained the dry aged process,... More
