Description: David Burke's Primehouse in The James Hotel features a modern steakhouse menu with hand-picked meats that are dry-aged for 28 to 75 days in a Himalayan salt-tiled aging room on premise. An intimate new destination for special gatherings, Burke's Dining Room is a noteworthy addition to David Burke's Primehouse. Conceived as a modern interpretation of the classic "chef's table" meant for private dining, it serves to complement Chef Burke's progressive, whimsical fare.#1 Steakhouse in Chicago - Chicago magazineBest Burger in the U.S. - Food & WineBest Steakhouses in the U.S. - USA TodayBest Steak Ever - Rahm Fama of Food Network Chicago Tribune"The complex, earthy flavors that dry aging brings out had me swooning. This is the kind of meat I want my server to set in front of me when I go out and pay top dollar for a restaurant steak. The extra layer of richness the brushed-on 'beef love' added really put this one over the top."

I really enjoyed eating at David Burke's Primehouse. I had the house made salad made table side. Every dish was first rate. The service was exceptional. I couldn't provide any higher recommendation.

My wife and I had visited David Burke's Primehouse for dinner in the past for dinner which was wonderful, and this time we thought we would try lunch. I had read that David Burke's has the best burger in Chicago. It was a beautiful day and we decided to eat outside. It was small area but we didn't care (our... More

I went to David Burke ' s with business contacts. Having heard that this was ranked as the best steakhouse in Chicago by Chicago Magazine, I was expecting it to be great. It was very good, but not the equal of Del Frisco in NY or Burns in Tampa. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I walked out being... More

The bartender was not friendly at all. When I asked for a specific type of vodka he said they did not have it, but "have better than that." Really? So you are saying I have bad taste. LOL Not a nice guy at all...he made me feel like I was an imposition. I personally like to feel welcomed. My husband... More

I ate the 75 day ribeye, and it was a very unique dining experience. I can't say that it was better than the steaks I have eaten at Vic and Anthony's, but it was excellent, perfectly cooked, and something you can get almost nowhere else. The steaks are expensive, but It isn't cheap to buy prime beef, then age it... More

Great quality steak with generous portion sizes. Exquisite wine list. Only down side was very over done side dishes (potatoes and vegetables). Great service, but be prepared to pay $200+.

Would have given 5 stars had our steaks been better. My husband and I love our steak so when we saw they had aged beef we definitely wanted to dine there. Other than the steaks being just ok, everything else was fabulous! Great wait staff, had this wonderful mango salmon appetizer that was awesome. Caesar salad was great, even my... More

In a steakhouse the steak is center, but this should not be taken as an excuse to let standards in everything else fall beyong acceptable levels. The steak was ok, very ok, but NOT great, I've had better in other Chicago steak houses which are ranked less. The starter, Caesar's salad, was done at the table - good performance, rather... More

Way over rated and way overpriced. These so called "prime aged well marbled beef" is a great name, but they don't live up to it in product. When I pay $60.00 for a steak alone I expect it to dance off the plate into my mouth and melt. I needed to hack away at it a bit to get through... More

I come to Chicago yearly for a business conference. I searched out steakhouse for our last night and decided on David Burkes based on his reputation. My opinion is he is resting on his laurels with this place. My husbands Colorado lamb chops were excellent. The bacon lollipops were very good, and the Yorkshire pudding type bread was divine. My...
