Description: David Burke's Primehouse in The James Hotel features a modern steakhouse menu with hand-picked meats that are dry-aged for 28 to 75 days in a Himalayan salt-tiled aging room on premise. An intimate new destination for special gatherings, Burke's Dining Room is a noteworthy addition to David Burke's Primehouse. Conceived as a modern interpretation of the classic "chef's table" meant for private dining, it serves to complement Chef Burke's progressive, whimsical fare.#1 Steakhouse in Chicago - Chicago magazineBest Burger in the U.S. - Food & WineBest Steakhouses in the U.S. - USA TodayBest Steak Ever - Rahm Fama of Food Network Chicago Tribune"The complex, earthy flavors that dry aging brings out had me swooning. This is the kind of meat I want my server to set in front of me when I go out and pay top dollar for a restaurant steak. The extra layer of richness the brushed-on 'beef love' added really put this one over the top."

I was excited to try this place as I'm a huge steak lover; however, I was extremely disappointed. I had their "best of the best" 75 day aged prime ribeye. While you could taste the aging, it was very bland. I grill a better steak at home from my local meat market. My wife had their pork chop, which was... More

This was the first place we ate at while in Chicago for a long-weekend and it was by far the most underwhelming place we tried. Good steaks but nothing spectacular for the price. I'm not stingy when it comes to food but I do mind paying ~$70 for an average steak. Atmosphere was okay, service was good, again, meh. It... More

We had dinner here and everything about this place is delicious right down to the homemade ice cream for dessert. We started out with Bacon on a stick. I'm not a huge bacon fan but I am a fan of these! Totally not what I was imagining when we ordered. O so good! My husband ordered oysters on the half... More

We came with a group of six people to celebrate a birthday. I am not a huge steak lover, but the steak at David Burke was spectacular. Portions are large, so my friend and I shared one steak and it was perfect, along with some family style served vegetables. The dessert was pretty spectacular too. We had donut holes which... More

I had the best filet in my life Saturday! Wonderful service, upscale dinning in Chicago at a fair price, thank you!

This was a great restaurant for steak a bit off the beaten track. Server needed to follow closer directions. Great caesar salad prepared at table side. However, when asked if we wanted it spicy and declined it was still spicy. A little less dressing would have helped a bit. Burker (burger) was great with super pepper fries. Bone in filet... More

We only went for some apps and martinis at the bar. The appetizers came quickly, which was nice. The bartender forgot what we had ordered when he came for our second round, which seemed strange since it wasn't particularly busy. But it was a nice experience. I'd go again.

David Burke's Primehouse, located at 616 North Rush Street, in the St. James Hotel, is rated among the top three steakhouses in Chicago by virtually every food critic and survey you care to respect. Some say it is No. 1. I won't argue. But you have to remember that, in a town that prides itself on great steakhouses, there is... More

Overpriced. Steaks are good but not great. Plenty of fat on my ribeye which made me aware that every edible bite was very "dear"..aka expensive. High prices for mediocre sides, but excellent salads. Make sure your company is paying for this.

Breakfast was wonderful. I would highly recommend this for breakfast. One morning I had eggs benedict and fresh juice and it was great. Oatmeal the next day was very good with really fresh berries.
