Description: David Burke's Primehouse in The James Hotel features a modern steakhouse menu with hand-picked meats that are dry-aged for 28 to 75 days in a Himalayan salt-tiled aging room on premise. An intimate new destination for special gatherings, Burke's Dining Room is a noteworthy addition to David Burke's Primehouse. Conceived as a modern interpretation of the classic "chef's table" meant for private dining, it serves to complement Chef Burke's progressive, whimsical fare.#1 Steakhouse in Chicago - Chicago magazineBest Burger in the U.S. - Food & WineBest Steakhouses in the U.S. - USA TodayBest Steak Ever - Rahm Fama of Food Network Chicago Tribune"The complex, earthy flavors that dry aging brings out had me swooning. This is the kind of meat I want my server to set in front of me when I go out and pay top dollar for a restaurant steak. The extra layer of richness the brushed-on 'beef love' added really put this one over the top."

We read reviews and decided to try the No. 1 Steakhouse in Chicago. It was not disappointing. Maybe others have more discriminating palates and can say there are better steakhouses in Chicago. Certainly, there are less expensive ones. But everything was delightful here, from the ambience (busy but not noisy), attentive service without being overbearing, perfectly prepared and presented food.... More

Aged steaks, cooked perfectly--what more could you ask for!! Had the 40 day aged bone in rib eye-amazing! Caesar salad prepared table side with crab cake croutons another highlight. Worth a visit!

I was in Chicago for business and decided to check out "Chicago's #1 steakhouse" - I had the 28 day "Chicago's #1 steak" and was definitely impressed. It did not come with any sides, however I did order some heavenly mashed potatoes. I spent 1.5hrs at the bar (full service menu) had my dinner followed by drinks and met some... More

I absolutely love eating here! I have tried both the 55 day aged and the 75 day aged Ribeyes. Honestly I couldn't tell much of a difference between the two (my wife had the 55 when I had the 75, and the first time we both had the 55 day). I'll probably stick w/ the 55 day aged Ribeye in... More

We wanted a good burger. Our concierge recommended this for lunch, saying the food was excellent, but lunch was not as pricey or formal. It was quite honestly the best meal I have ever eaten. Started with bacon on a stick as an appetizer, which was luscious. My entire group ordered the burger, voted the best burger in the US... More

They have that cool 2000 year old salt block from the ancient Himalayan sea that makes their dry age process patented. The staff works hard for you. They do a good job up-selling you to the more expensive items. The wine list is comprehensive but few choices for under $100. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed. Maybe I'm becoming a food snob... More

We ate here on the day we arrived in town. We had booked ahead as we knew we would be tired. When we arrived (on time) our table was not ready, we were told to wait in the bar and not offered a drink or a menu! We were sat in a dark corner, I think the light bulbs had... More

We recently had lunch here and I was impressed over all. The beef stick appetizers were flavorful and tender and the deviled eggs were vibrant and very tasty. I had the prime burger and it too was very good. We had some truffle fries and they were ok though not the best I've ever had. It was not bad at... More
