Description: David Burke's Primehouse in The James Hotel features a modern steakhouse...
David Burke's Primehouse in The James Hotel features a modern steakhouse menu with hand-picked meats that are dry-aged for 28 to 75 days in a Himalayan salt-tiled aging room on premise. An intimate new destination for special gatherings, Burke's Dining Room is a noteworthy addition to David Burke's Primehouse. Conceived as a modern interpretation of the classic "chef's table" meant for private dining, it serves to complement Chef Burke's progressive, whimsical fare.#1 Steakhouse in Chicago - Chicago magazineBest Burger in the U.S. - Food & WineBest Steakhouses in the U.S. - USA TodayBest Steak Ever - Rahm Fama of Food Network Chicago Tribune"The complex, earthy flavors that dry aging brings out had me swooning. This is the kind of meat I want my server to set in front of me when I go out and pay top dollar for a restaurant steak. The extra layer of richness the brushed-on 'beef love' added really put this one over the top."

Must visit if looking for a 5-star steakhouse!

We were in Chicago for the weekend for the Auto show. Sunday night, planned on having Pizza at the hotel, but after driving around and seeing all the wonderful steak house's in town we decided to have a nice dinner. Called a few on the top of the list but they were booked. David Burke's did have a reservation at... More

E had a small family sinner gathering there on 2/15/15. Service was excellent. Ambience in James Hotel was very good. while the food (mostly steaks) was quite good, I didn't think it matched the prices. I also thought the sides were a bit skimpy. with all the wonderful restaurants in Chicago, we'll probably select another alternative next time.

I am staying at the James Hotel which makes this place a natural for breakfast before starting my work day. I ordered smoke salmon egg Benedict and it was just perfect. While I was eating a neighbor table ordered French toast and I was enticed to order a side dish. Yes I overdid breakfast but it was all worth it.... More

I had a grand meal at Davd Burke’s Primehouse. The specialty here is a patented process by which Mr. Burke ages the steaks using a Himalayan salt room. The resulting steak is extremely tasty and definitely worth a visit to this fine restaurant. The wine list, even by the glass, is exceptional. My only gripe is minor and simple: The... More

The David Burke Primehouse at The James Chicago is an excellent steakhouse and dining spot for those who like swift service, good food at a suitable price. Experiencing the restaurant during Chicago's 'Restaurant Week', I had no choice but to have the special menu at $44/person for three courses. I opted for the iceberg wedge, which was dressed appropriately with... More

We were really looking forward to our dinner here. When we arrived we were told it was Restaurant Week(???) and there was a pre set menu with very little to chose from except the steak upgrades. We don't eat a lot, so it was disappointing not to be able to split a steak and order the sides we wanted. Don't... More

Super tender meat. Chose the 38 day kansas strip. Likes it alot. Would say that dry aged meat with more than 30 days is an aquired taste. Happy i did not go for longer than 38 days. Is somewhat different than mortons or rutha chris. Would recommend anyone to make. Visit.

Let me start by saying that I am not a dry-aged steak connioisseur. But, I do frequent steakhouses and am not opposed to paying $50 for a really great steak. But, $61 for a mediocre steak - not so much. We had read that this restaurant had the #1 steak in Chicago; but, honestly I have had more delicious steak... More

I was excited to try this place as I'm a huge steak lover; however, I was extremely disappointed. I had their "best of the best" 75 day aged prime ribeye. While you could taste the aging, it was very bland. I grill a better steak at home from my local meat market. My wife had their pork chop, which was... More
