Pizza, bread and wine

Love this place. As a starter the bread with olive oil is a killer, I could eat it for the whole night. But instead we choose octopus and potato which was just wonderful. To finish sausage pizza with a Sicilian wine, just amazing!

We walked into Osteria Via Stato after walking for what seemed miles from our accommodations near Lincoln Park one wonderful warm evening in June. The waiter was personable and attentive serving us our beverages (water and draft beer) in a timely manner along with a basket of welcomed French or Italian Bread and dipping olive oil. We ordered a tasty... More

Dined at the bar by myself. Eventually greeted by the bartender, who was informative but not particularly eager to interact. I ordered a beer, a tavern pizza and a side dish of marinated olives - all of which were very good. The pizza is an 11-inch, thin crust pizza with just the right amount of toppings (I ordered 'sausage' since... More

My husband and I ordered the 'Italian Dinner Party' which included several appetizers, two pastas and a main course each. Everything we were served during this feast was delicious and there was enough food for 3 or 4 people. The appetizers were particularly interesting and yummy.

While walking along State St we decided to dine her after looking at the posted menu. It was explained that there were two sides to the restaurant. We decided to sit outside on the patio and people watch. After looking over everything on the menu and listening to our server, we decided to try the Dinner Party, which included a... More

We stumbled upon this lovely Italian bistro because it was conveniently located off the lobby of our hotel. The menu and drinks were very reasonably priced. I absolutely loved the mixed greens salad with goat cheese and cherries. My husband enjoyed the caesar salad with grilled chicken. Tables near us were raving about their pizzas too. In spite of very... More

Having enjoyed an excellent dinner at this place several years ago, I revisited the restaurant with friends. By ordering the Italian Dinner Party menu option, there was plenty to eat - olives, crusty bread, lovely antipasto, two pasta dishes and then a choice of mains (some with a surcharge) and dessert. Food was excellent, waiting staff were a little sluggish... More

Went here for a business dinner and had a fixed menu. I choose the meat and it was nice and tender. The asparagus were nice and the potatoes crispy. For a group dinner this is a nice place to go!

Went here for dinner with my daughter. Be aware, the pizzas are fantastic but not served in the main restaurant. So, the young ones may be disappointed. We had the mini meatballs antipasti, and a couple of pasta dishes. Both were very good. Our service was fantastic! Would go again.

We attended a wedding rehearsal dinner at this lovely restaurant. The service was excellent. I ordered the brown butter roasted chicken breast and it was delicious. Roasted asparagus and crispy new potatoes accompanied the dinner as well as salad. Dessert followed and was a light and tasty cheesecake. An excellent meal.
