(OH-STEH-REE-YAH) A casual Italian tavern where people gather to enjoy antipasti with wine, a plate of pasta or an Italian feast, all served with the warmth and hospitality of family. Osteria Via Stato, a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant follows this definition and the Italian tradition of seasonally prepared dishes featuring local ingredients and artisanal producers paired with an all Italian wine list. Osteria Via Stato opens daily at five. Pizzeria Via Stato located adjacent to Osteria Via Stato is a cozy, Roman-style pizzeria that continues to highlight Executive Chef Digregorio’s passion for market-fresh ingredients. The tavern pizzas have crispy, thin crust with both artisanal and classic toppings. The tavern also features 300 Italian wines, local bottles and draft beers as well as an extensive selection of small plates. Pizzeria Via Stato offers both lunch and dinner

Best Italian Food Ever - Ever

This was my partner and I's first visit here during our first stay in Chicago, because we were staying at the Embassy Suites in the same block, we decided to venture into the OVS for our first night meal. To put it plain and simple the food here is probably the best Italian food ever, we had a... read more

Worked at an event all day in the scorching heat, was exhausted and other restaurants in the area were about an hour wait. We made our way back to Osteria Via Stato as we were staying at the Embassy Suites (this restaurant is in the hotel lobby). We were seated right away, waters poured very quickly. And then we waited... More

Where do I even start with Osteria Via Stato? The food! Impeccable food. Everything was delicious. I ate here for a company dinner with my coworkers and the food was so tasty! Appetizers: ciabatta bread with roasted garlic and house marinated olives. The garlic was perfect to compliment the bread. We had a choice of entree and I ordered the... More

This was my second visit and I've yet to be disappointed. We were carb loading for the Rock n Roll Half Marathon this past weekend... Our party of 3 ladies ordered the veal meatballs (don't skip these) and a tomato mozzarella salad - interesting twist with great flavor. We each tried 3 different pasta dishes and no one complained. The... More

You definitely get your money's worth here. The food keeps coming, and coming, and coming! I loved the entire set up of the menu! I picked a filet as my entree and it was perfect! I love that the food that came out before my steak was chef's choice. I tried so many new things that I would have never... More

After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor (and because were staying at the hotel) we decided to have dinner here rather than one of the other highly recommended Italian restaurants. Unfortunately we were disappointed in 2 of the 3 dishes. Important information: Two of us were just in Italy the previous month and we were not expecting this restaurant to... More

The food was delicious, a little bit too salty for my taste, it was not a problem for the others. The meatballs with tomato sauce were a dream in the mouth. Same goes for the braised beef, the chicken breast which was very juicy and tender and the fish.

Great atmosphere!! Great service!!! As for the food, they start you off right with the best roasted garlic/oil dipping sauce for your bread!! Literally could've just eaten that and been satisfied!! However, we decided to do the Italian Dinner Party option and it's definitely the way to go...Yes, it's $40/person, but you get to sample alot of different foods and... More

Never disappointed. Great food,(home made pasta) Great service, great wine and drinks. A bit expensive but worth it at least once. Oh and nice relaxing atmosphere. They also have an adjoining bar/pizza section next to the main restaurant. You can dress up or go casual.
