A best 10 type of Italian restaurant in chicago

An outstanding Italian restaurant I had the $39.95 gastronomique delight. The assorted plates for each antipasto- salad -main course was truly amazing. The food just kept coming and although the I said I would taste a forkful of each- all the tastes and aromas were top notch- one of my new favorites

Very good food. Pasta dishes were well cooked and well seasoned. Portion sizes were "European" ie not excessive, but possibly a little small for what locals are used to. I liked these smaller portion sizes but I don't know if the majority of customers would necessarily share the same view. Wine was very nice and accompanied the food well. Service:... More

It always troubles me when someone doesn't trust the concept and tries to get too fancy with a staple. Enter the pizza at Osteria via Stato (or Pizzaria via Stato). I took the recommendation of the server. The pizza was unique, which is a pretty charitable way to describe it. Had a funky taste. There were times that it tasted... More

The three of us dined here for the first time. We shared pizza and salad...all were excellent. I would have rated five stars had we not been served water and beer glasses that smelled like a dirty wash rag.

Each time I visit Chicago, I stop here for a meal. This time, I visited the bar in the middle of the afternoon for a break from shopping at Eataly. They offered a special sausage flatbread pizza that was perfect! The crisp clay oven baked crust and the spicy and rich sausage was addictive! The service is always on point... More

My daughter and I had a wonderful meal here. The thin crust pizza is absolutely delicious, as were the salads. We were able to get a table outside, which was great for people watching. Our server was so friendly and welcoming. We visited at the end of a long hot day of walking around Chicago, so it was nice to... More

During a two day stay in Chicago we had dinner at OVS. It was a warm evening and we sat outside, which was lovely. We enjoyed everything we chose including the bread with balsamic, oil and roasted garlic. This is what vacations are all about!

We had been to this restaurant for a wedding rehearsal dinner and were pleasantly surprised by how amazing the food and service was. We decided to go here for restaurant week and were equally impressed. The assorted olives, bread and garlic were delicious. The veal meatballs are wonderful as are the salads. The salmon is cooked to perfection, not overdone... More

This was my partner and I's first visit here during our first stay in Chicago, because we were staying at the Embassy Suites in the same block, we decided to venture into the OVS for our first night meal. To put it plain and simple the food here is probably the best Italian food ever, we had a selection of... More
