Great bread and great thin crust pizza

Ate here for a business event with over 75 people, and was impressed all around. It was a fixed menu with choices for the multiple courses. The food - from appetizers to meal to dessert was tasty. Everything was served at the right temperature (which is hard with a large group), the service was great (never had to ask for... More

The only thing i have to say about this place is.. that damn bread i love love love the bread they bring to the table with the oil and balsamic vinaigrette. I had a heirloom salad and it was pretty good but for my main course they drop the ball big time

We came across this restaurant by accident and it was the best accident that you can have. Very friendly staff, the best food - the halibut special was amazing and the portion size was just right and a nice quiet atmosphere to enjoy it all in. Definitely on the list the next time I go back to Chicago without question.... More

My wife and I dined with a large group at Osteria Via Stato in Chicago while in the city on business. It was a totally delightful experience. We were a group of about 30 people in a private room with a preselected menu of many choices. We had four options at the tables when we arrived, all perfect to accompany... More

recent business dinner during a Chicago convention weekend brought us to Osteria Via Stato where we were overwhelmed by the menu and execution from the dining room but put off by the volume in the dining room. Not only the din of the other diners but music at a substantial volume (at least the bass) and on a very short... More

We dined at Osteria' for a work function. We had a special menu with family style appetizers and sides. Appetizers: The thin crust pizza came out first. It was fantastic. I don't typically enjoy thin crust pizza but I enjoyed Osteria's. Their tomato sauce was mouth watering. The other appetizers included polenta and mushrooms (highly recommend) first time I have... On Good Friday I went with 2 friends to Osteria. We arrived at 7 pm and were given the menus from which to choose the restaurant. We choose the dining room and were seated right away. The ceiling is simple fabric supported by tree limbs (very rustic feeling). There is a nice selection of Italian food. We all chose a... More

Nothing outstanding, but you get standard family pasta menu if you choose so. All guests in the party have to do the same choice. Food is good and quality of the service is above average. We didn't like that servers are quick to take the plate in feint of us including silver for no reason and then we had to... More

And I mean that both literally and figuratively. My disappointment is based on both the food and the atmosphere. We went on a Saturday night, so we expected some wait and some noise. The wait was over a half-hour past our reservation, and the noise was brutal. We were sat next to a party of about 20 people, made worse... More
