I had the medium hot chocolate while on the food planet food tour in Bucktown/Wicker park. The hot chocolate (and homemade marshmellow) was AMAZING. Unfortunately, when we went back wanting the check out the other hot chocolate options they were closed for a private event. So, because we are from out of town, we may have to consider buying the... Mindy Segal is known for her desserts. Yet, the real star of Hot Chocolate is the excellence in all aspects of dining. The menu features approachable items executed in a top quality fashion with a twist. For instance, the mushrooms were a distinct type flavored with Lardons and pork belly. Incredible flavors and unique preparation on what could have been... More

The Hot Chocolate Choices will floor you. I chose the Dark Hot Chocolate. Atmosphere is energetic and I would not hesitate to return when back in the area.

I don't care for the food and the uppity foodie atmosphere but they have some of the best hot chocolate I have ever had. You can buy it by the pound to take home.

To cap off my night in Chicago, I had to stop by Hot Chocolate after having seen it featured on the food network. I bought 2 cookies that were just ok. However, the hot chocolate stole the show. They offer a variety of hot chocolate. I had the mexican hot chocolate that was out of this world. They served it... More

This is a very unique place where you really need to ask about the food prior to eating it. We started with an assortment of cheeses. One was 'strong' which is another term for Stinky cheese. I had the burger which was quite good. The hot chocolate was also very rich and tasty. The waiter was attentive. The atmosphere was... More

I went to Hot Chocolate for drinks and munches with my sister for our first stop of the evening. I had an amazing cocktail made with Northshore Distillery gin that was fantastic. I also really enjoyed the trumpet mushrooms with lardons and foie gras butter. The pork belly was just average. The place is small and was very busy, even... More

My friend and I arrived to Chicago and then headed to Hot Chocolate. It's a trek from downtown. Wicker Park was neat once we made it down there. The atmosphere was good and our waiter was wonderful. We split a Caesar Salad, and it was perfect. I decided on the Mac and cheese because I had read about it. It... More

We were curious to check this place as we heard great things about it from our friends. We ate some burgers and then enjoyed a number of desserts. Being there one now, I think the next time we'll just stick with the desserts. They were delicious. The flavors were unique. Important note: If you plan to go, I would suggest... More
